Would it be safe or ideal to run a parametric EQ from the speaker output on a dual rec to a parametric EQ, then from there to the cab? Or is in the loop the better option? What are the pros and cons of each?

Perfect answer :D You hit the nail on the head because I was a little worried at having the 'devastation' that you mentioned. The context of a mix is what I was talking about since I work in a studio, not really a live player, so that's good to hear.

We all know the Mark IIc+ wins on leads :D but what do you think wins for rhythm? The Mark iii section? I'm talking about in the Quad pre. I've been able to get some nice metal rhythm tones out of the iic+ section though... What do you think?

Have any of you done a side by side comparison of Mesa gear? I mean like something from a Rectifier series compared to a Mark series, back to back. I'm wondering which one of these is going to push more air, as in harder sounding, not louder. Presence, kick, punch, whatever you want to call it...

I lost the fuse, no where in sight. The thing is that they've got different sizes of the same model so that's what I was alluding to. Not sure what size to get.

I forget the exact kind of fuse that 50/50s use. There's a model, but there's also a certain size. I need to pick up a few of these in the next few days.

The quad pre and I think the studio pre as well have some very different kinds of bass/mid/treble controls on them. I'm wondering if adding a hardware EQ unit to my rack will help me get to where I'm going. When recording it would be nice to go straight to the hardware EQ and not have to worry...

High gain metal riffage! Something powerful enough to be death metal, but, not really death metal. I'm mainly looking to use this amp as a total riffer amp. I want some of the chuggachuggachugga balls to the wall metal riffage sound going on.

Thanks for the input, it helps. I'm not so opposed to getting a 3 channel if I could find one for a good price. Right now I'm waiting on word back for a 2 channel 1996 dual rec for $1000 or so, so we'll see if that falls through or not. I think that's a decent price!
