really noticed it yesterday. my crybaby wah seemed to suck the juice and sustain out of my tone. i started out not using it. then i plugged it in and played a song with it. after that one song i took it out of the chain. the tone was better, like it was before i plugged it in. and the battery...

i ran the ge-7 through my effects loop and the amp totally came to life. i was stunned. the eq sucked out every trace of mud. my sound was clearer and better in every way. i was cutting through the mix so much better. what an improvement in tone. im loving my rig now more than ever.

ive heard james used dirty fingers, but not too sure. heavent heard much else on the topic. maybe the 500t??

ive read from several sources claiming hetfield uses the emg 60 for his heavy rhythms. is this true? doesnt seem to be, because when i hear metallica heavy rifs it sounds more like a bridge pickup...like an emg 81. whats the deal?

the amp works fine otherwise. when i turn the standby on after letting the tubes warm up, the clean channel puts out no signal at all. it works after i click over to the dirty channel, even if its for a split second. then it all works fine. was wondering what the deal is. anyone??

just bought a 2x12 empty cabinet from sscabs on ebay. i had my celestion g1270 speakers in a GK 4x12s cabinet. took two out of it and threw them in my new cab. all i can say is, it sounds like a new and improved amp...in every aspect. my tone is clearer, cleaner, tighter, more defined...
