Whats with the John Petrucci obsession?

Sorry if im busting in on this at a random point cos theres 4 pages and didnt get through em all .... but concerning the original question: I think the proof is in the pudding and the core issue you (original poster) have was what you initially pointed out: "Granted I'm not big on that kind of...

    RK vs roadster??

There's always a lot of RKvsRoadsters going on around these parts... my assumption was (and i appologise if its all wrong or whatever): They set off on a journey to create the biggest most badass amp that had yet been done, surpassing all the standards of what a pure-tube amp could be and...

Roadster problem with LED channel lights

I think a check-up is in order... the lights respond to a logic switcher that matches whats going on in the relay side of things so if theres a rogue voltage keeping that green light on, some other things in the amp circuit may possibly see a similar problem.

I want more 'heavy' Stiletto clips

I am getting ready to ebay my Stiletto Deuce head so I recorded these to link to the auction... Playing is well crappy at many points during the clips but my hope is that the general tone of the amp is nicely shown. all clips: http://www.netmusicians.org/?section=user&[email protected]...

    Post your Rig!

Finaly I got chance to picture some stuff in a decent situation... Pictures posted are of the larger rig when venue/stage size allows... Majority of places its usually just the RKII, board and one cab... This larger rig would usally include one more 4x12 stacked on top of the other allowing one...

    Speaker isolation boxes on stage????

If you like the sound and it works for you then you're sorted... Personally I have tried many different ways of closing up the cab and they all had a similar issue of sounding exactly like they were, i.e. boxed in... I think There's something about the sound having some space to roar in and the...

    Custom Stiletto?

Yeah, it's cos I picked mine up in a shop when it was on offer, but im sure you can get what ever you want done... I remember a few months back someone showing a roadster with black diamond but alum vent bar and it kicked ***... I also seen on ebay UK a stiletto that was done like the custom...

    Custom Stiletto?

I quite like the subtle-ness of mine, but I wish it came with the Al vent bar like RK and others...

slaving a triple rectifier to a roadking 1

amp 1 loop send to amp 2 loop return. if you go from amp 1 loop send to amp 2 input you are shoving a line level signal into an instrument level again so could get a bit squashy, and over complicated with another set of pre controls to sort.

    Road King II Sound

Yeah, if the gain doesnt sound like its in the same general ball park as most mesa amps then perhapse a pre-tube issue but you said you replaced them all and no difference so get it sent back from whence it came.

    Road King II Sound

Ha... I see where you are coming from ... from experience and a lot of reading on here, it seems that it depends on any or all of the following: place you're in, where it's placed there-in, wall voltage, cab and speakers, guitar wood, guitar pickup, guitar setup, string condition, cable...

    Recruiting ... Who wants some???

My band desparately needs a drummer or a vocal front man (one guy currently does both) .... sure, the majority of people on here are probably in continental USA/Canada or counties and places other than N.E. England... but if you fancy the migration just for the hell of it, this can go out to...

    line 6 dl4 with a mark iv

If you really wanted to keep the pedal for its sounds then you can get the keeley mod to fix the volume drop... but it does alter the tone significantly still... I used to try to match the loop-switched-out tone with a EQ-7 or similar pedal in the loop with DL-4 to get the hi-end loss back, but...

    Brit mode

Straight up... Before I had Mesa stuff I used an old AC30 for everything... Brit mode is a fairly decent alternative for getting similar tones. take a strat, plug into 50w/tube rec/brit mode at a slightly cruchy gain with delay and play some U2 (if your into that sort of thing)... pretty sweet.

What Delay Pedal For Parallel EFX Loop??

I use DD-20 but i only have rk and deuce which are series loops... Thats said, if you wanted to use the DD-20 in a parallel loop you should be changing the output mode to wet only giving you only the delay repeats (still patch storable at the effect level) coming out of the unit and the amps dry...
