    Mesa EL34 power tubes

I'm selling the six Mesa/Boogie STR-447 EL34 power tubes that came out of my Stiletto Trident. The tubes have about 3 or 4 hours playing time on them at "bedroom volume". I swapped them out for JJ KT77s shortly after buying the amp, and have no use for the EL34s. I'm asking $60 SHIPPED...

    6l6 in stiletto

+1,000,000,000 I fell in love with the JJ KT77s as soon as I powered up my Stiletto. The higher the volume goes, the bigger the smile on my face grows :D

Stiletto Stage I and II differences

The Tridents have a different voice than the Deuce as well. The Trident (in my opinion) has more low end, and the tone is a bit more full bodied. The Tite Gain mode on my Trident with an MXR EQ in the FX loop is all I need to get my tone. I throw a Boss SD-1 in front of the amp when I want to...

Stiletto Stage I and II differences

Stage I Stiletto's have serious balls.... don't let anyone tell you different. You just need a bit of patience to tweak with the settings. The Stage II is a bit "tighter". I will admit I prefer the Fluid Drive mode on the Stage II, but I spend a majority of my time in the Tite Gain mode... so...

    Best Graphic EQ Pedal

    I use an MXR 6-band.

    Overdrive pedal with mesa

I run a Boss SD-1 in front of the red channel on my Trident from time to time. I get great thrash metal tones with it.

Anybody use the MXR M-109 6 Band EQ ???

I play every day for a minimum of 2 hours. It's been 2 months since I last changed batteries in the MXR. The sliders are effectively your level adjustment. You're either boosting or cutting a frequency up to +/- 18dB. It would be nice if it had an overall level control, but I keep it on all...

Anybody use the MXR M-109 6 Band EQ ???

I keep an MXR 6-band EQ in the FX loop of my Stiletto. It makes a night and day difference, and it's built like a tank.

what string gauge and tuning do you use?!

My main string of choice is the DR "Pure Blues" .10-.46. They have a great feel to them and the sound stays bright for an incredibly long time. The DRs last longer than any other string I've used. I also have two of my guitars set up with DR High Voltage .10-.52. The heavier gauge works well...

    My limited edition Dean ML

6 months ago I put my head together with a good friend of mine, co-owner of Funky Munky Music, Jon K. I laid out the specs and he took the project on, pitching the idea to the fine folks at Dean Guitars. What we came up with is a guitar that revisits the classic beauty of the Dean ML. This...

    Stiletto Trident Series I

Thanks. I had a clip somewhere of the Trident with the stock EL34s for comparison... but have yet to find it. I don't suppose it matters, because after experiencing the KT77s I don't think I'll be going back to EL34s. :)

JJ or Tung Sol 12AX7s in a Mark IV?

I use the Tung Sol tubes in V1 and V2 of my Trident. V1 is both the input stage and the second gain stage, and V2 is the input stage for the Fat Clean and Fluid Drive modes as well as the 3rd gain stage for all other modes. In other words, those two tubes are responsible for a majority of the...

    JJ's or Mesa tubes.

I'm hesitant to try and put a label like that on them.... I will say this: I play a lot of metal, and the KT77s definitely gave my Stiletto the balls that it was lacking with the stock Mesa EL34s. People hear my amp and can't believe that it's a Series I. I also get great blues and southern...
