    stiletto thought....

Hey guys! Was a member here years ago, ended up boogie-free so havent been back... That said, I'm considering a stiletto ace. Thing is, I really love that voxy top boost crunch tone, but need flexibility as well and my ac30 just doesn't get there. Anyone on here have any luck getting a vox...

FS: 2002 Epiphone Les Paul Custom

For Sale: Modified Epiphone Les Paul Custom. First, about the guitar itself. Guitar is a 2002 model, mahogany body, maple neck, ebony with the 3 ply binding, standard les paul custom. It's in decent shape considering it's not a closet queen, guitar has been gigged and used. It's not bad, but it...

    FS/FT: Mark III Blue Stripe

When I recorded those, I was looking for a very expressive low end, so I did it that way on purpose. The beauty of the later marks (IIC, III, IV) is that they'll get as tight or loose as you want. Extremely flexible. Also an update. I Do have a road case, but I need to locate it. The amp has...

    Mark III question

Question: How much does a mark III with the EV12L weigh? anyone know?

    FS/FT: Mark III Blue Stripe

It's how it was recorded. I recorded it with the thiele extension cabinet which had a crappy speaker, which affected the recording. Also the guitar in those clips is tuned 1 full step down.

    FS/FT: Mark III Blue Stripe

For Sale Or For Trade: 80's Mesa Mark III Blue Stripe combo. This guy has all the options, eq, simul-class, and the original EV12L speaker. All original parts, except for tubes, which are electro harmonix except for v2 or v3 (can't remember which lol....) which is a vintage Mullard. Power tubes...

    Mystery-stripe Mark III...

I'm going to go ahead and call that a purple stripe. the red stripes are pretty plainly red. not like the green/blue debates we've had sometimes.

    Mark III tone issues

It's due for a retube anyways. I'm going to retube the gain stages with 12AT7's and see what happens. I want to leave the 12ax7 in the driver stage because I like the preamp to hit the power section pretty hard.

    Mark III tone issues

a zvex super hard on? coloring tone? I'm pretty sure that's not it... I get the same issue with my epi les paul w/ EMG's, and to a somewhat lesser extent with my Hamer Studio Custom w/ SD 59s. I think it might be related to the gain structure of the amp. Mark III's are generally...

    Mark III tone issues

don't have a closed back around. my 2x12 is an 2/3 back. sounds a little better. could be my micing also. Though I don't think so because it never came across boxy before. In my experience, recording an amp is the best way to tell tone, listening to it in the room almost never gives a true...

    Mark III tone issues

I should say that it's plenty sharp. the treble side of things sounds great, and over all the sound is clear as a bell. R2 and Lead really oversaturate for what I'm doing now. There is just too much mid. I'm trying to shift from a mid-focused sound to getting a little more growl on the low end...

    Mark III tone issues

Also note that I am using R1 set to almost breakup, and driving it into mid-gain crunch using the zvex super-hard-on

    Mark III tone issues

Hey guys, been having some issues with my mark III. just for background, its an 87 blue stripe, with sylvania 6l6's, mullard EL34's, RCA Black plate 12ax7's, except for V3 which is a NOS mullard shield logo. It's simul class, eq, reverb, with the original EVM 12L. I never had a problem when I...

F\T: 87 Blue Stripe Mark III combo w/ roadcase for Stiletto

EDIT: Also would consider a vox AC30 or AC15, Old ampeg gemini series or VT-22, Marshall amps, or perhaps a lonestar if someone can demonstrate a decent marshall style brit rock tone with it

F\T: 87 Blue Stripe Mark III combo w/ roadcase for Stiletto

Want to trade my fully loaded 87 mark III blue stripe combo w/ EV 12L for any stiletto. Would prefer a series II, but series I is fine too. Ace, Deuce, Trident, doesn't matter. Will throw in a little cash if necessary for the right amp. Pics to come

    Why I'm a IDIOT

the only way I buy a guitar from guitar center or sam ash is if its a stock model that hasn't been on the floor. I once had a guy go in the back and come out with a guitar, and I said no thanks, go get one thats in the box, bring me the box, and I'll open it. its the only way to ward off the...

    What Boog is this?

I concur with the early mark II, could be a IIA, definetly not a C, no pull deep

Lamb of God Redneck Tone Sample

its a good tone, drums are too loud. definetly can tell that its not a mark. the mark IV tracks a little faster, and in my opinion, recto's kind of sound "soft" in comparison to the mark series

    Mark III - R2 mod - discuss ...

gonna be tough on the mark III. from what I've found you can get any two channels working pretty well. usually the lead and one of the rhythm channels. I use r1 for clean, my super hard on for dirty, and lead channel for my metal sound
