When I first power on my Mark V, I get some crackling and whooshing. It's still there with input cable removed, so not external source. It's present on all channels, more noticiable as power settings go up from 10->45->90W. Seems to be on all modes, at least in channel 1 - didn't try them all on...

I love my TC-50. With either EL-34's or 6V6's. Currently running the 6V6's. I managed to get a really killer deal on mine...it was a demo marked way down, plus I managed to get an ebay coupon on top of that. Stole it at $1360. Worth every penny, and totally mint - not a mark on it and performs...

The Mesa Official Demo of the TC-50 on YouTube has a response from MESA about the MIDI controls: "The MIDI function controls Channels, Reverb, FX Loop and Solo but it does not save information of the rotary controls. Those remain full analog/manual pots." So I guess this begs the question...

So I'm curious about the voicings of the channels and if it can get the sounds I'm after. What I would really like is 3 channels and the full footswitching capabilities of this amp, where the 3 channels can get rectifier sounds as Ch 1 - clean, Ch 2-pushed, and Channel 3- Vintage or Modern...

I'm curious if anyone has tried fresh 6L6's vs. fresh EL-34's in their Mark V? I watched a comparison video and other than the cleans sounding slightly fatter with the 6L6's, it didn't seem like much of a difference.

Well how about that. I had tried the one control with a Mark V:35, but not the V. And what ever was going on with the V35, it isn't happening on the V. So my one control will work fine. It sounds good, no noise or coloration I can discern. Still interested in switching solutions others use...
