Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

Yep, I agree with that sentiment. But, even though I'm not a "H" fan, I still think the ones I've owned/played edge the JP2c. But against a DRG, no, no contest.

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

Well believe it. Since their release, I compared a few next to a couple of my DRGs and while the JP2c is cool, it's no DRG. To me, as a guy that would love to leave his older amps at home and/or record in a more convenient fashion, there's no comparison. And a one trick pony? Please

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

I agree that, if anything, the JP2C will cause the price of the originals to increase. After the Mark V and JP2C, It's becoming evident that the tone and feel of the IIC+ simply cannot be replicated and while the V and JP2C are cool amps, they are no IIC+. I also don't agree that the IIC+...

    Mesa JP-2C Review

Hi, Thanks for the response above as well. My preference for the DRG is indeed due to its wiring rather than the ability to use 6L6s and El34s. While the option to use EL34s is nice, I find that I rarely use or even think about using El34s. Everyone has an opinion on the options, but I...

    Mesa JP-2C Review

Thanks, that's what I was suspecting. The DRG is just my sound, noticeable different than the other models particularly for leads/solos.

    Mesa JP-2C Review

Thanks for the response, DaveP. You likely know this, but on the originals, you can get pretty much the same level of gain by balancing Vol. 1 and Drive. Increase Vol. 1 and keep gain down, or keep gain up and decrease vol. 1, gets you nearly to same place sonically, but with vastly...

    Mesa JP-2C Review

Kippie and David, How close is the JP2C to a DRG? I've always preferred the DRG to any of the other variations, and to me it's a pretty noticeable difference. I'm concerned that the JP2C will be more similar to a HRG than a DRG, which wouldn't work for me. Also, I'm somewhat confused about the...

The Mark V is nothing like a 2C+, especially one with simul. OP, congrats and thanks for the clips!

The JP-2C Owner's Manual is up

Great job and thank you, Doug. As critical as I was about your initial comments, I want to commend your willingness to publicly acknowledge and apologize. Always knew that Mesa was a great company, and am happy this hasn't changed. Further, while improvement and innovation are clearly...

The JP-2C Owner's Manual is up

That's the most surprising thing about this all, they really had no reason to lash out at IIC+ owners. There's only about 1,500 to 2,000 out there, and I don't think many of those are even for sale. So, it's not like those amps are going to cut into Mesa's sales. Further, anyone who owns or has...

The JP-2C Owner's Manual is up

Mesa has been trying to better the IIC+ since, well, it stopped making the IIC+. The III was supposed to be better - and it wasn't. The IV was supposed to be better - and it wasn't. The Mark V was supposed to be better - and it wasn't. Funny that Petrucci went on and on about how the Mark V...

The JP-2C Owner's Manual is up

Your not the only one, friend, I cancelled my order today as well. It's funny, I generally stand up for Mesa since they are one of the few "Made in the USA" marks left but this was a classless and ill-conceived move. I get it, they are not making a dime out of old amps. I also get they want...

    video of the jp2c

I'm a long time Mesa user, and have been using the IIC+ nearly exclusively for a number of years. Count me as one of those underwhelmed with the demos. I guess time will tell, but it sounds more like a recto than a IIC+. As to the "dogs of the line," well DRGs sell for far more than 60s and...
