Mesa 25-wat rectoverb 1x12 sounds harsh, raspy. Any ideas?

Don't know if this will help any, but I bought a new rectifier stack this January. First new amp in a very long time. It had been just about 4 years since I owned a different rectifier, so I was expecting the same sweet sound. Well, both with that old amp, (bought new in 02), and this brand new...

    Dual Rectifier problem, strange problem

I bought a brand new dual rec and 4x12 cab this January. At the store, for the demo, there was a brief moment where there was now sound. The sales-girl swapped the cord and it started working. Once I got home with the rig, I experienced the same thing and quickly found that the cable jack was...

    Dual Reborn vs Roadster

Hey, well, I'm not the most boogie knowledgeable, but here's what I can tell ya: I owned a new 2002 Dual Rec. Loved it. Period. Got bored, thought there was better out there, sold it and found out there isn't. I just bought a new Reborn Rec and frickin love it! During the process, I wound up...

Best delays and mods for 3 channel dual recto

I recently had luck with TC Electronic mini pedals. Reverb, Delay, and Chorus. But I do have the new recto with the series loop. I thought the new loop would allow me to use digital effects, but there was enough bleed through of the dry signal to cause the "out of phase" sound. For me, unusable...

    Rectifier Reborn - fan added?

Rereading your post I see that you meant triple rec. Sorry, mine is a dual. Still no fan, but maybe the triple does have one But I can't see any fan in that second pic. Just that little silver colored transformer. I do have that little thingy

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

That's awesome. But I have read that the Roadster loop is different/better/more serial loopish. Dunno, Just what I've read, and I DID NOT sleep at Holiday Inn Express last night..soooo...

True, but I wonder about tone with those things. Never tried one though.

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

Thanks Elvis. Well as a final update on the matter, I bought the TC Electronic HOF reverb mini, Flashback delay mini, and Corona chorus mini. All 3, great pedals, and work fine in the loop. They all have Analog-Dry-Through, so there's no a/d d/a conversion thus, no out of phase sound. Sounds...

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

Well, I decided to go the TC Electronic pedal route. Should work fine. Thanks for the help

No, I meant on the individual effects on the M13.

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

Thanks guys. I have come to terms with the situation finally. lol I am frustrated by the fact that to enjoy using digital effects, I must use gig/band volume. I mean, it makes sense. The amp is designed for the biggest of venues. But I am struggling with MS in my later years and just want to...

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

Thanks! Did that already, and there is! Mesa says that's normal. I can't see how. They suggested I swap v2 or v3. Tried that earlier today with no change. Is there a fix to the bleed? Is it normal for the new multi-watt? Could someone else just test this for me please?

Line 6 M13 out of phase, comb filtering. Resolved

Long story short. Had a 2002 recto. Learned right away that digital effects and parallel loops don't work. Used a reverb pedal, done. Been through hell ever since selling that amp, but I find myself with a new multi-watt recto and no effects till today. I decided that I wanted the Line 6 M13...

    Rectoverb 25 head/cab ohms question.

I have only one experience with this kind of situation. I owned a Laney Ironheart with matching cab, and the very first gig with it, I connected to the 8 ohm out to the 16 ohm cab. The whole night I spent thinking, "WTF is wrong with this piece of sh**?". It sounded dark, and lifeless. I...

    Dual Rectifier / Boss ES8

I'd like to chime because I have some issues with my reborn loop. I owned a 2002 dual rec, and I tried a GT-6 using the 4-cable method. Phase cancellation. I wound up using a boss reverb and boss delay pedal and those were fine. It was explained to me that the a/d-d/a conversion in the GT-6 was...

Triple Rec Head Christmas Gift - Too loud?

I'm no expert by any means, but while 150 is a lot of watts for a tube amp, the difference between 150 and 100 watts in volume is only a few decibels. Someone here will tell exactly how many. I want to say 5 but I'm not sure. I now only play at home and own a 100w. I find that I get a really...

Multi-watt 2&3 voiced the same or not?

I spent some time on your soundcloud after doing a search here. I like your tone comparisons a lot. Good work Spent some more quality time with my amp yesterday and found my sound I think. Going spongy and tube rectifier!! But it's so awesome! Seems tighter than what I remember my 2002...

Multi-watt 2&3 voiced the same or not?

Good info guys. Thanks Still trying to decide how to use channel 2. With my 2002 it used to be my medium gain ac/dc sound on vintage. With this amp, on vintage, there is a boxier tone than I remember from my old one. Now I'm tempted to run it in modern with low gain. Are there any tubes that...

Multi-watt 2&3 voiced the same or not?

Interesting. Ya, that's what they used to say in the old manual, that the presence on 3 was more extreme than 2. It's just strange that they have backed away from that and say they are the same. weird :?
