    The Mark IV thread....!!

    Yeah had the same problem. Replace the V1 preamp tube with a new 12AX7. The V1 slot is the one with the metal housing over it push upwards and give it a slight twist to remove it. I hope I was able to help you a bit :P

    If we are talking bout Amp Master Volume above "4" how loud are your (R1 / R2 / Lead) individual channel volumes set up then ? On my Mark IV (Rev. A 1992) I always run my Master Volume on about 3 and my R1 (5) R2 (4) and Lead (2-5) depending on home use or bandroom. Other Lead Channel...

    Changed my V1 preamp tube for a new Mesa Boogie 12AX7. Everything is working properly now, at least I think so. Clean channel with gain on 4 and channel volume on 5-6 is now as loud as the Lead channel with gain on 7 and channel volume on 3. Is this the way it is supposed to be ? Thanks...

    With seperating i meant this ! There is an aluminum housing screwed over my V1-slot but I cant unscrew the 2 small screws without disassembling the amp! I cant reach the screws even with a very tiny screwdriver.
