New here, looking to go back to rack

I have one of the Marshall 1936 2*12s. Used to have a pair. Great sounding cabs, and significantly lighter than a mesa 2*12. I swapped the speakers in one of them to v30s, but they sound good either way.

New here, looking to go back to rack

G system does all of my switching for me. It really is a powerful unit. I've had mine for about two years, never had any problems. I use it for all of my front and back end effects, although will occasionally through a real pedal or two into one of the loops. I made the switch for a couple of...

New here, looking to go back to rack

Just putting this out there. I very recently switched from a triaxis/2:90 setup to a mark iv combo. I use a tc gsystem with the mark iv. I've got the brain tie strapped to the top of the combo (and its still fits in the flight case, yay!) So it stays wired. I plug a power cable from the amp in...

    EVM 12L vs MC-90

Would definitely swap a c90 for your 12l if you're interested. I have three is various cabs, and would like to get some more of a mix going on.

Mk-IV Volume knob is very touchy

In jam (we are admittedly a fairly loud five piece) I run my master volume on the high side of almost three. In the lower regions, for less aggressive playing, I also find the knon very sensitive. You're running a 85 watt amp, it's the nature of the beast. Turn down the channel masters a bit...

NAD - Awesome Mark IV score! (NPD too!)

Dude, that is a heck of a deal on a beautiful looking amp. I just picked up a mark iv a combo, but its regular tolex. Not gonna lie, slightly jealous. AWESOME find. Pedalboard looks pretty tight too.

    Mark IV slave out question

Not sure what the source of your 'thin' tone might be, I haven't messed around with either the slave out or recording outs of my mark iv yet. However, the slave out should be sending out the exact same signal that the mark is sending to it's own Poweramp section, whereas the recording out will...

Triaxis upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0?

If you have an older triaxis, it doesn't have the tx4 board (which has the rectifier) on it. It's a definite hardware upgrade. Apparently you could send it in to mesa for a while and get it done, I don't know if it's still an option.

Mark IV vs Triaxis (I've been offered a swap)

I hope so! That swap fell through, but I'm trading for a 1991 mark iv a compact combo tomorrow :)

Can someone explain the "Preset Depth" knobs?

From what I have read (and just to disagree with everyone else, cause that's always a good time) I understood that they knobs acted as a 'eq mix', allowing you to basically blend the dry signal with the eq'd signal. This would let you have an aggressive eq set for one channel, but only dial in a...

    FS/FT mesa triaxis/2:90

Looking to trade my tri and 2:90 for a three (or more) channel tube head. Preferably a mark iv/v, but open to options. Not really using it to its potential, so looking to move to a simpler setup. Both units are in good shape and work flawlessly. Also have a tc g-system, rack case, and Furman...

Mark IV vs Triaxis (I've been offered a swap)

I own a early model triaxis/290 combo. Had it for years, and been very pleased with it. Recently I've been wanting to go to a 'analog' setup for simplicity, and ease of pedal tweaking (I'm running a gsystem with my triaxis), and got an offer of a straight swap for a mid 2000's mark iv head. Just...

    V-Twin rack pre-amp

I might be interested in this, as I always am looking for more gear to not use. If he willing to ship?

    Triaxis LD 2

Ld1 drive shouldnt affect your tone at all when running in ld2 mode. Is it a substantial change? Does the ld2 drive also affect the gain?

    TriAxis/2:Ninety - I must be weird.

When you run the processor in the loop, it hits a final tube before output. And yeah, the half drive is fantastic. I'm in the same boat dude.

FS/FT Mesa Boogie Mark IVb Widebody Combo

Boo! Just saw this. Definetly would have swapped my 2:90 for her.

Triaxis and Carvin TS 100 Power Amp

Get the 2:90. The deep/modern/half drive modes really complete the whole equation. Yeah, it weighs a lot. But wich is life. Sounds like gold.

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

I actually find the clarity of this cab amazing. Sounds way different than the closed back 1936 w/ v30s I was using, so it'll take some time reogramming the presets. Much less bass, but I can probably dial back in what I want. I imagine it will cut through a mix much better. I know its scads...
