    Santana tone with 525 exp+

Congrats! I'll check when I get home - I did "swap" settings, using the "Crunch" on the Green Channel for my OD, and the "Blues" set low for my cleans. It's possible to find that sound with the "Burn" as well.

    Santana tone with 525 exp+

It was, but barely. You can probably get a cheap 10ft speaker cable, and if you solder off the plug on one end and solder that to their respective terminals on your combo speaker you should be good to go, although I use one of those On-Stage stands for my amp, and the feet on the PS coupled with...

    Santana tone with 525 exp+

Hey there, I got an internal error when trying to reply, so here's what I wrote: You can just pick up a regular speaker cable, the longer the cable the heavier the gauge though to support the current going through it. Mesa speaker out > Speaker cable > PS Amp In (select correct ohm) > PS...

    Santana tone with 525 exp+

I'd say it's very transparent - the attenuator is a reactive load, so the amp "thinks" it's feeling a speaker on the other end and responds like it normally would. That being said, like all attenuators you notice a loss in high end and tonal flunctuations as the amp changes overall volume...

    Santana tone with 525 exp+

I agree. My tones were in the dumble vein when using the 5:25+ but they were a hair aggressive which I think is part of the Santana sound. However, another big part with his tone is sheer volume which is tough even without a attenuator! The Fryette is real helpful with using my Mesa at home

    Express Series vs Maverick Series

Thanks! If you could only have one, which would you pick? Are they different enough to warrant both? Which do you like more? Thanks to everyone who contributed

    Santana tone with 525 exp+

When I had mine (now use a 5:50+ combo and loving it) I would set the amp to the Burn mode (Clock face Settings) Gain - 9:00 (9:30 - 10) Treble - 12 Mid - 12 Bass - 10 Reverb - I turned it off but at 9 works when I had it one Master - 11 25W or 15W modes I used a Fryette Power Station to keep...

    NAD: Express 5:50+ Combo!!

Hey everyone! I've been the proud owner of a 5:25+ for the past two years, however I recently decided to downsize (more mobile if I want to relocate, basically) so I decided to sell my tube amps and shop around for a solid, versatile amp that sounds killer both on stage and at home. I always...

    Express 5:25+ woes

Really great advice here - thank you to all who have contributed! I have a stand - one of those On-Stage jobbers that everyone has, but I heard the Standback stands are good too. Minutia I guess... Len, i'll try the V setting as well! Would that compromise the "more mids" advice though?

    Express 5:25+ woes

Hi everyone, Thanks for the different suggestions. The issue is on both channels. I snapped a picture of my settings, however they may have been bumped a bit. I sort of see the error of my ways now, whereas I should dial in more treble on both channels. Also, the speaker was at my feet and...

    Express 5:25+ woes

Hey guys, so I'm really struggling with my Express 2:25+ with my Les Paul - sounds glorious at home but as soon as I take it out I get lost in the mix and turn up too loud so I have to change the behavior/EQ better I'd really appreciate any suggestions on how to cut better live/have more high...

    Express Series vs Maverick Series

Hi all, Really been loving my Express 5:25+ for the past year, but ever so often I get Maverick gas. I can get a D-style tone from the Express @ 9:00 on the burn channel, but I never really turn the gain up on that channel much farther. Also, I never really had the chance to sit down with a...

    Express 5:50+ ....nothing but issues

I had a similar reverb failure with my 5:25+ head (not my current combo) and it was a few resistors that needed replacing.. it happens. I'm not sure about your EQ controls - that's new to me. I would probably send it back to Mesa though, they're great to work with!

Placing Delay Pedal in Effects Loop Kills Your Tone?

I have a similar issue with my Carr Slant 6v's loop, so I bought a G-Lab ALA-1 (their loop converter) The Kleinulator, or dumbleator will do that same thing - essentially a loop adapter/additional Master Volume.

Placing Delay Pedal in Effects Loop Kills Your Tone?

This sounds to be an impedence issue with the effects loop and your pedals. I'm not very tech savvy, but the line level loop (I think) doesn't like your pedal level, well pedal. What exactly is happening to your tone?

    Dumble/Robben Ford Tones

I've gotten close to my ears with my 5:25+, 9 o clock on the burn channel with the 700 freq boosted slightly. I play Gibson style guitars mostly do that also helped get that sound. I have a Zendrive red but haven't tried it yet, I prefer a AM TS808 with the Mesa too. Very versatile amp!

WGS Speaker For 5:50 (non plus)

I very much like the ET65 & V30 setup I have for my Express 5:25+ although I have yet to try the ET65 with my Fuchs.

    Weird Hum

Only one tube is running in 5 watt mode, so it makes sense that the cap was causing the issue. R125 is a circuit board part AFAIK. Maybe they were out of the traditional part, and put an equivalent spec in there? Obviously wasn't tested for durability or noise ration though, It just seems...
