Okay I've done a little research and am now more confused :lol: the cabinet is either 4 or 16 ohm in mono or 8 ohms in stereo. what I gather is that I can just unplug my combo speaker and connect the 16 ohm mono jack of the cabinet into the single 8 ohm jack on amp and should be okay ?? and...

The 4 ohm cab should only be used by itself. Does that mean I can use the 4 ohm cab with my combo as an extension with out my combo speaker ? (yes it is still the 8 ohm speaker)

I do not know how to do it but the tech I take my amps too said its an easy mod. Just change out a couple resistors and add a pot, under a hundred bucks he said. 10 bucks for parts and an hour labour

thanks to all that have responded. Turning down gain mid and bass have helped. I just assumed that I should set up clean channel to sound good and use that setting but yes way too flubby regardless of pedal settings. Thanks again

Hello all, i'm new too the board and to tube amps, I have a question. When running a fullbore metal distortion pedal through my 5 50 express clean channel w/ all pre amp dials at 12 o'clock sounds great at volumes under 9 o'clock but anything higher and its just a wave of noise. The question is...
