NAD: Mesa Boogie Mark VII head. WOW

Upon my initial trial test of the VII in the store I came away unimpressed. I now have a Mark VII combo — but only after I got to try another one and turns out the original one I tried must‘ve been defective. But yo the point, I thought I’d miss the Overall Master and Solo features, but...

    Mark VII Channel volume differences

Update: Sweetwater swapped out my Mark VII combo and the replacement now sounds perfect across all channels. Got a chance to A/B both amps before shipping out the defective one…and on both amps channel 1s sounded about the same volume at similar settings. So, this confirms that, the problem...

    Bought a Mark VII!

I guess it depends the type of music you play. I owned one of the original custom JP2Cs before the Gibson acquisition and I totally hated it. It did not cut in the way I expected it,— and felt too squishy in Comparison to my real,IIC+s. I play mostly R&B, Pop, Rock — no heavy stuff like metal...

    Mark VII Channel volume differences

If there is a problem in channel 1 of my amp — to my ears it is not a problem with channel 1 as it sounds amazing as is — the problem is that ch2 sounds flat and very low volume in comparison and would love for the assumed channel 1 problem to be replicated to channel 2 so they can both sound...

    Mark VII Channel volume differences

Confirmed — it’s your previous amp. In a way I am relieved that it’s not systemic poor QC developing at Mesa now led by Gibson…but at the same time incensed that Sweetwater just restocked a defective amp.

    Mark VII Channel volume differences

Hmm I’m thinking I got your defective Mark VII combo — because I just received a Demo version from Sweetwater — that has the exact same issue with Ch1 Fat being waaaaay louder than ch2…actually any setting that affects volume in ch1 when cloned in ch2, ch1 is waaaay louder. Even the 25 watt in...

    Mark VII?

I disagree with the Reviewer’ conclusion. I own 3 IIC+s, 2 Mark Vs (head and a custom bubinga hardwood combo); and tested my fave of the IIC+s, Mark V head against VII and came away that the V sounded better to my ears than the VII; and the V’s IIC+ mode more akin to the V’s emulation of it— so...

    SOLD: New JP-2C w/Orig Box & Papers

About 5 hours of playtime only. Loved the amp but want to sell to diversify my amp line up, looking at a Friedman. It has not had the loop mod and frankly I don't think it's necessary for how I use it. But the receipt and warranty will accompany it if you want to setup the return with Mesa...

    Mark V:25 vs Mark V:35

I just went through this debate with myself and elected to go with the V:25 for several reasons: I already own the big MK V Brand New V:25 saved me > $500 over the V:35 Super light weight, small foot print, Big Huge tone That said if I didn't already have the full sized V, I'd have gone with...

    First gig with Mark V!

Same here. I've owned a Mark V since it's release and I do not agree with the need to radically change your settings from home to gig. What usually requires more tweaking are my time based effects from home to gig as impacted by the size and dynamics of the room. On the amp it's a minor tweak...

    Mark V price check

Seems like a good price -- and inline with the current economic climate. I have seen may Mark V combos for $1500, and the cab for about $300 - $350 -- so $2200 for a slightly custom set is not an amazing deal, but a pretty fair one -- great if it's in like new condition in the orig box.

Mark V - Is it easier to dial in/keep dialed in than the IV

I've owned a Mark IV since about the 2nd year it was introduced -- and my settings have stayed pretty much the same. The only changes I make, based on room size / dynamics is adjust between tweed, full power, class A simul-class, harmonics / Mids.....other than that, the controls are pretty...
