Lonestar Classic/Special/MkV for Dead and Classic Rock?

Don't have it. Cant say I would miss it though. I'm running the THD yellow jackets, so my "50 watt" is actually 20 class a Watts and that's fine for the basement. I'll see this weekend if 70 simlclass is load enough for my band. Unless you record I can't see needing 10 watts. I can crank the 20...

Lonestar Classic/Special/MkV for Dead and Classic Rock?

PS: Last summer I got to do a Dead tribute with the Buffalo Phillharmonic and the LSC shined. Nails that edgy Jerry stuff and you can always push it with metal pedal for his Hell in a Bucket tone (although I'm not a fan of his heavy overdrive sound, I prefer his clean and edge tones with a...

Just changed my output tubes in LSC to EL84 and EL34

CH1 & CH2 about the same except Gain. CH1 G:12-1 T: 2:30 M: 10 B: 1 P: 12-2 (per room) Master: 11 CH2 G:2-5 depending on how much grind needed Master: 11-12 (depending on Gain) if I use drive, set to norm at about 10 Loop in at 1:00 Tweed mode unless the band gets...

Just changed my output tubes in LSC to EL84 and EL34

Spot on obout the tube arangement. It reminds me of my simlclass Mark, but a little softer, old school, less agressive especially with the tweed mode. probably about 70 watts total. There is a drastic increase in volume and apparent bottom end with the extra EL 34's kicked in. I will give it the...

Just changed my output tubes in LSC to EL84 and EL34

I just changed my output tubes to (outer) THD Yellow Jacket with EL84's and (inner) EL34's, Love it! Bottom end seems to have a lot more bite and when playing in the basement can run just the 84's in class A at about 20 watts, gets a great power amp grind without blowing the roof off the house...

    Special Power Tube Question

I think you guys are off base. One tube should be fine, as long as you don't switch out of 10 watt mode. If the other tubes are out of the circuit, then they're out. I used to run my MK II C+ with only outer 34's in it and never had a problem. The LSC manual states that you can run 6v6 in the...

How can I make a LSC Channel 2 Cut through the mix more?

I'm with you, I don't have any problem cutting. If your looking to sound thin and mid-rangy you'll definitely cut through fine with a Fender hot rod. My other guitar player use one he cuts through great, but in my recordings, his tone is far less complex. If you can't get a good tone with a...

    Lonestar Classic Models

I've had mine for about two years (50/100) and had both speakers blow, but boogie replaced them free. As far as the sweet spot in 50 watt tweed using the 4ohm speaker jack (with 8 ohm load) The amp is a s sweet as they come. Need more bite switch to normal power or 100 watt, but I love the...
