Has anyone replaced their tubes and/or switched to EL34's?

I swapped out the preamp tubes (all but the PI & reverb recovery) with mesa SPAx7s. Very quite and durable tube, great for an amp that will be on the road. Tried EL-34s (447s and 450s). Noticeable difference but I prefer the 6l6s for their versatility and thick lead tone...and they sound...

    Early Production ED

Just go mine back from being modified (gain trim pot)...this resolved my only hang-up with the amp. I honestly can't get enough of this amp. Perfect cleans and a high-gain lead channel that cuts clean through the band mix like a razor. Thanks Mesa! :D

How many replaced there Recto's with the Electra Dyne

Sold my DR upon purchase of my ED. For a heavy metal sound , I front end the ED with a Demeter Compulator->Keeley Mod TS-8->Butler Tube overdrive (great for scooping)...Bam! crunch-fest without the tone-snuff I experienced my old DR. I run straight into the amp for all clean and classic rock...

The ED as an at home amp? Also - comparison to Express 5:25

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this...and if so, what are the differences? Also, if you could include the "range" of your model...

Which Mesa Cab for Electradyne Head to get 112 Combo Sound?

I have the Electradyne head (British Tan) with a matching Roadster 2x12 cabinet. Sounds fantastic, looks killer & easy to load in/out. I have a Recto 2x12 cabinet, the Roadster cabinet is much smaller and lighter than my Recto 2x12 cabinet.
