    Lonestar????

Don't use EL34s unless you have a very good tech, or access to Mesa. I did in mine - they ran so hot, they melted the plate resistors. Tech replaced with larger resistors - bad idea - ran so hot, the solder melted and the resistors fell out! Advice from Mesa was "Use 6L6 power tubes." Other...

Link to dating a DR? (or any Mesas?)

Got it - serial number is 292xx. Just for fun (and because I'm still blown away by the sound, as well as the look) - here's a pic.

Link to dating a DR? (or any Mesas?)

that was one of the answers I found - just feel kinda silly wasting their time when all I want to know is the age of the amp. I found some details on Wiki - but you know how reliable that is. Sounds like a good idea to me, if someone can do it. I like the Mk/Boogie page - I'm assuming much...

Link to dating a DR? (or any Mesas?)

Does Mesa not have a dating system? I just picked up a very old NOS DR last night; since it is still mint w/tags, even tho prly ten+ years old, I was kinda hoping I could find a handy chart to look up, rather than follow what advice I found - which was either pull the chassis or buy it flowers...

2x12 w/ Fender tilt back legs and piggyback hardware.

fwiw, I've been running my LSS with just the front casters. It means I have to remove the danged things before every show, and put em on to go home, but I get just enough tilt that way. I've played plenty of Fenders w/tilt back legs - could never stand it, as others have said - the sound is as...

Wanted - Tremoverb headshell - cabinet

I have a Tremoverb combo - would really like to put the chassis into a Tremoverb head cabinet. If anyone has gone the other way and has an empty head cab, please pm or email me. If you'd like the combo cab in return, we'd have to work out some deal on shipping, but I sure don't need the cab -...

    Sold!

I know - resurrection of ancient thread - but did you sell the BA?

    SOLD ON EBAY. PLEASE DELETE.

fwiw, the stitching on my handle is also coming apart. :o Looks nice, but doesn't seem real durable. Still an awesome amp. :D

    RAGBRAI in Iowa

Hey - If you're into either bicycling or partying, you've likely heard of RAGBRAI. This year, it comes thru my hometown, and will be in Waterloo, IA. Not only is this a great rolling party - around 20k cyclists pass across the state like a swarm of locusts - but its also great for bands...

    .

darn - don't s'pose a Tremoverb chassis would fit in that headshell? :?: Already have a Heartbreaker, but I'm looking to change my Tverb combo into a head. (could have named it BackBreaker, and would have nailed it on the head)

    Heartbreaker head?

I have a Heartbreaker head, with original footswitch. Very good condition - but no clue which version. Tell me how to tell, and I'll be happy to check.

    Dual Rec Trem-O-Verb question

you could try putting in a set of 6V6s - I think that would work, as long as you stayed in Sag mode. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I've done it in my Heartbreaker, no worries - takes it down to a very manageable level. If you decide to recab the head, please lemme know - I'd love to turn my...

    Tremoverb Overdrive/Boost pedal..

I run PRSi (and some Gibbys) thru my Mesas. I normally use my LSS or Lonestar, but I have gigged my Trem the last few gigs. I'm too lazy to change my pedalboard when I switch amps, so I had my FulldriveII Mosfet and OCD on board; as well as the Lovepedal Eternity Kanji. Right now my Kanji is...

Ruby tubes? And a few other questions?

I've used Rubys, and had good luck with them. But - fwiw, I've also been told that Rubys are something else, and just rebadged. So a Ruby in one size (EL34, for instance) may be good, but a 6L6 or EL84 may come from an entirely different supplier/manufacturer - so hard to say how good or bad...

    Question on Tremoverb Blues channel

Thanks a bunch. I think. :) I was kinda hoping there was something wrong - I'm having a hard time dialing in sounds I like in red, so I was hoping there was something wrong. I know everyone else loves Tverbs; I got mine because I totally love my DR Solo - that is one amp that...

    Question on Tremoverb Blues channel

Hi - got a quick question for anyone with a tverb. I'm have the only one in the area, so have to ask you folks; Just noticed on my Trem that when I try to clone the RED channel, the Blues setting is unchanged. In fact, Blues setting sounds identical, whether the clone switch is Normal, or...
