What needs to be refurbished is it cosmetic, is it the internals or both.

I agree I had a AMPEG VH-140C and they sound great, it has killer distortion, reverb, and chourus I wish I would have kept that amp but in pursuit of a different tone I went to a tube amp dual rectifier so I got rid of it.

Hi Daniel My guess is that the RR- RF- signify the amp model for example the RR- is for the tremoverb and RF- is for the dual rectifier, tripple rectifier ect. the 1C or 1E that comes after the RR-on are tremoverb pcb is just a way of tracking and identifing the revisions of the amplifier...

There is no way around it if you want your sound to be at it's best a 4x12 cab is a must it sucks to lug this beast around but it's worth it, as for which cab to get I'm a little bias I lean toward mesa I have a traditional and standard cab if I had to get rid of one it would be very tough...
