Re: Static Like Noise RV25 intermittent

The RV25 is a new model. Shouldn't that still be under warranty? :?: Maybe you are far from a warranty station or the factory and want to avoid shipping...can't say I blame you. If you can duplicate the problem consistently enough, you can try pulling the preamp tubes, one at a time, starting with f...

Re: Just had a tube explode!!!

The amp cut out silently so I'm hoping that the fuse blew quickly enough that nothing got damaged. It usually does...that's its job. Pull the output tubes and see if it still blows a fuse when taken out of standby. If not, it's likely just a tube problem. You can put the other tubes back in, one at...

Give Mesa a call. It is a current production model so they may have exactly what you need at a reasonable cost.
Good luck!

Exactly.
Lot a vibration in a combo. Chassis could vibrate and buzz in the middle if not supported somehow.

Re: Replacing gem power lamp-easy?? What's involved?

The lens itself should be threaded. At least it is on my Ace, and many other amps. Try to unscrew it and see if that works!
This is how you'd get to the bulb to replace it, anyway.

Re: 5:25 or 5:50 dilemma

While I never owned an Express, I do see some significant differences between a 20 something watt amp vs. 50w. I can only compare my Studio 22+ and my Ace and while these are 2 totally different amps, I have noticed, at least in general: 50 watts does have more clean headroom...22 watts breaks up aw...

Re: LSS mystery solved

Sounds like it could just be a bad standby switch. If you intermittently loose voltage to the output tubes it will sound like the video, for sure. And if that is it, it should be easy for them to duplicate and switches are cheap! Either way, you know it will be in good hands now. You will get...

Re: LSS mystery solved

Whatever the problem is, it can be fixed. Is there a good tech in your area? Could turn out to be a relatively simple problem and may not be too expensive to fix. Also you can post the video on YouTube and add a link to it from here. If we could hear it, I, or someone here, may recognize the symptom...

Re: LSS mystery solved

Any way to record what you are hearing? You say the footswitch does not seem to work, but the audible problem still occurs with footsw unplugged... I had a bad switch on my Stiletto f.s. The solo one, IIRC. Mesa sent me a new one and I installed it. No problem since, but they can and do go bad. Mayb...

Good one!

But sadly, true. 6V6 won't take higher plate voltage that 6L6's use. They may even work for a short time, but they will fail eventually and could damage the amp in the process.
