Re: Dual Rectifier Roadster: Possible problem with FX Loop t

On some (if not most or all) of the Mesa amps they use a return jack that has a switching tab that engages when a cable is not plugged into it. If that contact point develops any corrosion, you would get the symptoms you describe. Usually you can open the amp to get to, and clean, that contact. Wors...

Re: Dual Rectifier Roadster: Possible problem with FX Loop t

Try running a cable from send jack to return jack directly. If it works then, it's not a tube. :o

Re: Express 5:50 Express Plus problem

Suspect FX loop jack. Try a cable between send and receive. Any difference?

Re: broken switch

Call Mesa and explain what happened. I would be surprised if they don't just send you a new one. Of course you need basic soldering skills to install it (be sure to make a diagram of where the wires go before you start). The basic procedure is simple enough. And, most importantly, you need to unders...

Sounds good, dude!
How exactly are the amps mixed? Are you running both together on the lead (or rhythm) tones? Is solo on one amp and rhythm the other or...? :?:

Re: Triaxis into DIGITAL processor?

Hello JRod. I just sent you a PM, BTW. I have used both a Digi GSP2101 and a Line 6 POD in the FX loop of my Triaxis. Both worked great...just did not use the distortion in them. I could control the presets with MIDI and it worked out great! I never tried an AxeFX, but would like to. And yes they ar...

Triaxis for sale

I have a Triaxis for sale. This would make a great Xmas gift for some lucky Boogie Boarder (even if for yourself!) in the San Diego area. I offer it for local pickup. Would not ship unless I receive payment first and I don’t expect anyone to go for that (I wouldn’t). Pay Pal “may” work but I would h...

Re: Dirty pots!!

Deoxit is clearly the best. Radio Shack usually carries it. Guitar Center also has it on their website.
Not the cheapest, but superior to anything else I've tried.

Re: Anybody have an amp that pops when you take it off Stand

My Studio 22+ has always had a low level pop going either way, standby or on. But unlike yours, it was louder going into standby.
It always did this and I bought the amp new. Never had any problems with it.
My Ace is quiet both ways.

Let us know what you find, you got my curiosity. :D

Re: Are these JJ EL34's safe to use in my Mesa Mark 5?

Well that is a bit ambiguous...at least for your purposes. Still, the best way is to put them in the amp and have a tech check the bias idle current. However, I am not sure what idle current to expect in the Mk 5, especially for the SimulClass sockets. Mesa can answer that with a quick call. If you ...

Re: Are these JJ EL34's safe to use in my Mesa Mark 5?

It's really not a "JJ" thing. The distributor is the one who tests and rates them. If it is of any help, to give you are very rough idea, I am using EH el34's in my Stiletto rated "27", from TubeDepot. They are working fine. BUT this is based on TubeDepot's rating system which may not be the same as...

Re: Are these JJ EL34's safe to use in my Mesa Mark 5?

Since different suppliers use varying test parameters to grade their tubes, it would probably be best to call them and ask. They should be able to tell you how these compare to Mesa rated tubes, which are "middle of the road", so to speak. This also would be equal to Groove tubes 4, 5 or 6 rating. :)

Re: VHT 2 90 2 vs Mesa 2:90

You should be able to find a video comparison of the two on the web. I did, though it was some years ago. I don't recall where exactly I saw it but it was likely on You tube. I know it was a Mesa 2:90, but not sure which exact model VHT amp. Both were driven with the Triaxis. Hopefully you can find ...
