Re: 45w Mode ... Not really 45w?

Hmmm...If you check out some posts on this forum, you will read that the ED appears louder than the published wattage specs! 8)

Re: Jamming with my lonestar classic

It's always nice to turn off the "editor" when listening to a clip and just appreciate the music, which is what I did when I listened to your solo.

Re: NGD - Gibson Les Paul Traditional

That is a beautiful guitar! If it sounds as good as it looks, then you're golden.

Got a LPJ for a nice price!

My son & I were visited Guitar Center Round Rock for his drum lesson on Saturday. While he was warming up, I was looking at the wall of guitars. He caught me looking at a guitar with a matte finish. I confessed that although I wasn't big on matte finishes, that chocolate Les Paul was nice. I had pla...

Re: F50 Mods!

Hmm...you said the clean isn't great...How about forgetting the clean channel and altering the preamp circuitry to make channel 1 dirty and channel 2 outright nasty?

Looks like I'll be manipulating some metal. Mesa verified that they don't carry SP rack ears anymore.

I'm gonna have to do play with some metal if I can't find any rack ears.

Re: WTB Mesa Boogie Studio Pre rack ears

I'll check on Monday. I had read a few posts on here that said Mesa stopped selling them.

WTB Mesa Boogie Studio Pre rack ears

I have no idea where mine went. I had them off while the tech was doing work, and now they are gone.

Hit me up if you have a pair to get rid of.

Thanks.

Re: Just bought a Mesa Lonestar v2 head

When I'm playing classic rock with my LSC, I use TWEED/TUBE RECTIFIER/EL34s at the 50 watt mode with a 2X12 of Vintage 30s. And if you need to switch to channel 1 cleans, then you'll find the EL34s are more than respectable for cleans. That being said, I agree with the other posts in that 6L6GCs wil...

Mesa finally put adjustable bias on an amp!!

Granted, it's a bass amp; but that's a step in the right direction. They even have a "current meter" to help you find Mesa's recommended range as you adjust your trim pot. I hope their new Strategy Bass amp with those big ol' KT-88s sounds as good as it looks. It's got different power settings, diff...

Re: Considering Selling My DC-3 - What's it worth?

http://www.prepal.com/data/MesaBoogie.htm

The site listed above lists the avg DC-3 price on the BAY at $521, which sounds about right from what I've seen on EBAY, Guitar Center used, and Craigslist.

Re: R.I.P. Dimebag 9 years gone! Brutal!

Hard to believe it's been that long...

And as tempted as I am, I won't preach to the choir about Dime's abilities.

Even though I don't play that style of music much these days, I still listen to quite a bit of Pantera - especially if I'm lifting. lol

Thanks for the review, Elvis. I enjoy the objectivity and attention to detail! And I laughed when I read how you justify your GAS with a line that I, a fellow gear addict, have used: "I bought it for further study." 8)
