Re: Any Disc Golf players?

I enjoy playing it with my son. We go to local football fields and construct our own "holes" using landmarks, etc. Oh, my son isn't into guitar; he's a drummer in the making.

Seamless preset changes

On the GSP 1101 web page, Digitech advertises "seamless preset changes" with the GSP 1101. Would like to get some feedback about effects processors and seamlessness or lack thereof. My budget is the $300 to $600 range, so I'm particularly curious about the GSP 1101, the G Major & G Major 2, the Lexi...

Guitar Center 15% off for 3 days

Just passing on a cool deal I saw on their website:

15% off any item over $299 1/29 - 1/31

Of course, Mesas aren't included in the deal, but still lots of stuff to get!

No, I don't work at GC or own any of their stock.

Enjoy!

Re: Serial or Parallel Effects

Elvis,

What kind of equipment were you using to get those impedance numbers? And what's the name of the buffer that worked for you?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: mesa transatlantic!

So what about doing the 4-cable method with the Trans? Won't that address the effects loop issues that some are complaining about?

Re: mesa transatlantic!

It's nice to Mesa come out with something that adds even more variety to their amp lineup. I like the look of it; and as a fan of the EL84 tone, I like it already! You just know it's gonna sound divine. Good job, Mesa. Using those 2 or 3 business classes I took back in the day, I'll even offer some ...

Re: What is your favorite modulation

Lately, been getting into some flange for funk soloing.

Oh, and chorus...who doesn't love chorus? I use a bit of chorus on clean stuff but stay away from it for any dirty stuff.

Will Mesa model like Marshall?

So word on the Marshall block is that the JMD-1 contains 4 EL34s (or 2 power tubes in the 50 watt version) and 1 preamp tube along with a bunch of digital effects, available in head or combo form. I own & enjoy my JMP-1 but am far from a Marshall fanatic. Yet I don't like Marshall's decision. I beli...

Re: what's your favorite NON Mesa/Boogie Preamp??

Only non-Mesa preamps I've owned and logged scores of hours on are the JMP-1, the MP-1 & the 2101 Artist. The Artist got me some descent clean tones, but I never could stand the effects processor. The MP-1 got some very nice clean tones and a very solid distortion, but I was more metal-inclined back...

Re: Serial or Parallel Effects

Ando and others, I've got an analog pedal that has a MIX function on it so that I can control the amount of effect. Do the any of the digital rack devices have a similar thing going on? Sounds like you're saying that it does not even matter because even with say a 10% mix of effect, you're still hav...

Serial or Parallel Effects

I spoke with Mike at Mesa today, and he said he was pretty sure the Studio Pre had a serial effects loop. Anybody know for sure? While we're on effects loops, what about the Triaxis? It is parallel or series? My concern is running digital rack effects with a parallel loop. From what I've read, that ...

Re: JMP-1: tube or solid state?

I've played through the ADAs & think they rock as well - just in a different way. Too bad that company went under because I always thought the MP-1 was a great product. I got a JMP-1 not because it's the ultimate preamp but because I wanted some Marshallesque rhythm tones. I was pleasantly surprised...

JMP-1: tube or solid state?

Read a lot of stuff about how the JMP-1 sounds more solid state than tube. Seen convincing arguments for both sides of the issue. Heard the JMP-1 in person a few times and was totally impressed with it, but that could've been the beer listening. After playing it through my 20/20, I'm gonna have to c...
