I cannot offer any advice but would ask that you please post your progress and results as you hopefully complete the modifications. I am interested in this stuff. 8)

Re: V25 in the house!

Primal,

You mentioned not liking the reverb on the V25. Did you like the reverb on your ED? Or is it reverb pans just don't do it for you?

And do you know if Mesa put a smaller reverb tank in the V25 than what is found in the Mark V?

Re: Custom Power Amp finally in the house!

No amazing Christmas presents to report. On a positive note, I found the money and a guy who is going to finish the custom power amp. He's gonna put sides & a top on it, put on front & back panels, replace the old-school knobs with chickenheads, and install a negative feedback pot. Whew! This thing ...

Re: Mark V 25 Reviews

To Elvis and anybody else who has run the Mark V 25 into a power amp, Would you please comment on dynamics as well as tone? I'm interested in running this little wonder into a custom power amp I have, but I would not want to lose any of its goodness. I guess I'm asking if the effects loop is good to...

Re: A word on the build quality of Tri and 2:90...

UPS once dropped a 20/20 power amp that I had sold to some dude. The amp worked perfectly although the ear had gotten bent. Luckily, I always take pics before I send stuff. The dude was able to file a claim against UPS. :)

Re: Iconic bad tone

I'm not sure which 80s band, but there are quite a few that qualify for this one! While I enjoy listening to House of Hair with Dee Snider, I laugh at some of the tones that escaped that decade. :?

Re: Triaxis with a Marshall EL34 100/100

There is no rule that states Boogie preamps must go with Boogie power amps. I encourage you to try the Marshall power amp. I myself am running a Studio Pre through EL-34s and love it. My power amp is a Boogie/Marshall hybrid - it's got a Boogie power tranny with a Marshall output tranny and a Marsha...

Re: Which Boogie to Buy

If I have to recommend an amp from the list you provided, I would suggest the F30. I would not get a Single Rectifier for rock & blues.

Re: Replacing EL-34 pair

Not if #3 & #4 are matched tubes and your replacement tube is the same as #3. What kind of tubes are you using and what are they rated? (Mesa yellows, GT #4, Tube Depot #32, etc.)
