Re: Any Stands 30+ Inches and Level?

Or.. a couple of these low-tech jobs? 11 inches high. $10.99 each at Sears. Weigh almost nothing. No moving parts. Made by Craftsman, so they're OK for real men. Hey, you can store stuff inside them! http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii210/evets618/1d8b4b56-85ba-407e-b472-a39532715d91_zps0f001b7f.j...

Re: WTB: Mark III reverb EQ footswitch

I'm guessing you probably are looking for something cheaper, but Mesa stills sells 'em:

Just FYI, you also need a shielded TRS (stereo) cable.
Also, no LED's.
Also also, you can use a Boss FS-6.

Re: Volume weirdness in Mark V 25

The Master Level is relative to the amount of Gain, and also the amount of pre-gain EQ that is dialed up. They are not necessarily going to be at equal settings to achieve the same volume level. Thanks! Maybe, but not enough that it would cause this. Also, I ran everything at noon with GEQ off. Any...

Re: Mark IV 8-4-4 speaker jack load with multiple cabinets

You've got to be careful when mixing loads,i.e using an 8ohm and 4ohm speaker in parallel to get 2.6ohms.In this scenario the wattage wont be distributed evenly,if you had 2x25 watt speakers and expected to cover 50 watts output power, one speaker will get twice the power of the other,or 2/3 of the ...

Re: Deluxe Reverb Tone through my Mark IV

Got manual?
Somewhere in there it talks about using four 6V6's (the power tube of the Deluxe Reverb) if you also switch to Simul-Class, Tweed Power, and plug the 8 ohm speaker into the four ohm jack. If you don't do those three things, something might go ka-blooie.

Re: MKIII V1 Question

1) Normal, especially if you run Volume 1 high.
( I wouldn't make a habit of banging on the tubes, though. Ironically, it will create a microphonic tube where one didn't exist before ).
2) Probably not.

Re: Speaker cable replacement when replacing speaker

Fender makes such a cable, don't remember if it comes longer than 13". It's the stock cable in Blues Jr.'s, etc. Some call them spade connectors, some call them "faston". Search "fender combo speaker cable" on eBay, you'll get results. Like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Upgrade-Switchcraft-24-Speake...

Re: 5:25 Head no volume change with power switch?

If you play loud, you'll notice you will run out of headroom quicker running at 15 watts instead of 25. Which means as you turn up the guitar, it's going to start to distort sooner at 15 watts even with the amp turned up all the way. At 25 watts, the amp will stay cleaner a bit longer. But ... 15 to...

Re: Suggestions for Alternative tubes I can put in my TA-15?

I wouldn't worry. The reputable tube brokers are well aware of Mesa's fixed bias design. In fact, they are taking advantage of this fact by offering a variety of different tubes so that we are not strictly limited to Mesa's brand. Of course, there's nothing wrong with Mesa tubes, and the sellers all...

As in most other important aspects of life, I've learned to fake it.
And I've noticed that no hot chick has ever come up to me and said, "You suck, dude! I can play 'Eruption' wa-a-a-ay better than you!"
YMMV LOL

Re: Reverb Circuitry Placement

A. Boogie has answered (Thanks!), but I'll insert my $.02 anyway. From my experience with Mark III's, if you want to self-test, try putting a boost-type pedal in the loop, a compressor would be even better. Even a TS9, Blues Driver, some kind of pedal to add a bit of gain and/or compression. Turn th...

Re: MINI MARK V

WANT! As skeptical as I am of an EL-84 amp sounding like a IIC+, I had an Express 5:25 and was impressed on how close to "blackface cleans" it got. It was much better than the mid-90"s Maverick/Blue Angel amps. That said, would it have killed them to make it with 6V6's? Maybe I'll wait 'til someone ...
