Re: TC-50 Question? What did this amp replace if any?

The TC-50 merged things I liked about the Recto, Mark and Electra Dyne into one amp. That’s how I felt, the TC seems to have a mix of what I like about the Rectos and MKV, and why I was quick to let go of the MKV. It just would never get played now. With a bit of low-mid boost through the FX loop I...

Re: Quiescent noise barely heard in headphones, with speaker is pronounced

It would help to know which Recto this is, and how you are getting the headphone signal.

I still wish the tight mode switch could be controlled via midi. To be able to switch back and forth with a simple tap of the foot would be awesome.
I agree. That would be awesome indeed.

Tight or Normal, Rhythm or Lead

Just curious how everyone is setting up their TC50/100 for Heavy And Modern Rock tones?

I currently have both channels in tight mode, Ch 2 primarily rhythm and Ch 3 primarily lead.

Re: TC-50 Question? What did this amp replace if any?

I don't know if i can say replaced, but after getting my TC-100 I saw no need to hang onto the MKV. It was always the amp that I 'dusted off' from time to time just to keep it active. Even with the AT7 in the preamp, I just never bonded with that amp. The TC however is getting much more play time. I...

Re: Mark V 25 main transformer

I would think the only place you will find a replacement transformer will be from Mesa Boogie.

If you are not in the US, you will need to do this through a Mesa Dealer.

Re: Mesa TC-100 FX loop question

Agreed, a preamp pedal designed for the front end of an amp will not have enough signal to properly drive the power amp, and may also have impedance matching issues.

Re: Replacing Power Tubes in a solo 150w head

Gross impedance mismatch is also not good for an output transformer, I don’t recommend running less than 2-pair (4) of tubes in a Triple Recto due to the large impedance change at both the primary and secondary side of the OT. . I owned and gigged a Triple Recto for years, there is not much of a dif...

Re: RK2 with metal front plate

Just about all of Mesa’s amp can have custom cabinet/head shell options.

There is nothing different about the amp circuitry, the difference is purely cosmetic.

Re: Capacitor replacement on mesa boogie amps

My Roadster is coming up on 12 years old and I have no reason to even consider it. The amp plays great and is played at band volume 4-5 hours every week plus gigs since I got it. These are the years when you reap the rewards of Mesa build quality. Are you having any issues with the amp? If not, don’...

Re: N A D: TC-100

Hi and congrats for your new amp :) I see that you also have the Stiletto Deuce stage II. Since you have both, I'm wondering if you could give us a detailed and informative comparison between the two amps? I'm very much interested in that. I'm thinking of buying one of the two, as I allready have a...

Re: N A D: TC-100

The amp has a lot of usable treble in the 9:00-10:00 range, that’s for sure. The more I play the amp the more comfortable I get with it, it’s quite a different beast compared the the Roadster. I keep finding myself staying in ch 2, tight, mids, treble & presence in the 8:30-10:00 range, bass around ...

Re: N A D: TC-100

Break a leg! Let us know how the show went. I was still getting some ear piercing highs in ch 3 out of the Recto 4x12 (no lie, certain notes hurt my ears and I was not playing that loud), so I gave my Mesa 5-Band GEQ a try in the FX loop with lackluster results. Every time I thought I dialed in good...

Re: Wonky solo output?

Heres a question for single rec experts. I have a series 1. Solo output actually increases overall volume up to almost quarter turn (9'oclock) even when feature not engaged. Obviously can also lower it back down to 6' oclock. Any reason for this? Wonky pot? Amp works completely fine otherwise. Solo...
