Re: Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

Are you using the FX loop when this happens?

Have you tried Hard-Bypassing the FX Loop to see if anything changes?

Re: 100w Dual Recto into 112 Lonestar Cab...

12:00 on the output is loud, how high are your channel masters? Small gigs that are mic’ed should be OK, just don’t push too much bass, especially in the clean tones. Distortion tends to compress the signal, reducing dynamic peaks a bit, but the punch of a clean bass note is quite different, and cou...

Re: New Dual Rectifier User Troubleshooting

Thanks for sharing the tip on the rectifier tube. Be sure to download the manual for your amp. There is a lot of great info about your new amp. The treble and mid adding gain to the clean channel is on pg 4 & 7, and there is quite the extensive info on speaker load matching and power tube basics. My...

Re: Cathode Follower

To put it simply, a cathode follower is an impedance conversion stage (buffer) that transforms a high-impedance signal into a low-impedance signal. It’s usually used to feed the tone stack section. Many tube amp players feel that the cathode follower adds a certain ‘flavor’ of harmonics to the signa...

Re: TC-100 excessive fan noise?

How is the new owner determining that the fan noise is excessive?

I hardly notice my fan, and only when I’m playing at low volumes alone, and only when I stop playing. In the band room or at a gig there is so much ambient noise I never hear it between songs.

Cathode Follower

In case anyone was wondering, V5a is a cathode follower position.

I confirmed this via email with Mesa.

I have a bunch of Mesa Russian-2 (EX) 12AX7’s that i want to try in the lead channel positions, should be no worries.

Re: Mark III power tube break up - doesn't seem possible

Most of Mesa’s amps run the output section cool and clean. IMHO- If it sounds good, feels good, and fits the band, why does it matter how much the power section is breaking up? If you’re not happy with what you’re getting from the MKIII, maybe try a Fender? Im not trying to be snarky, I’ve just lear...

Re: Switching Options for Mark V90?

I am currently working on a midi controlled pedalboard centered around the RJM PBC10 and looking for the best way to go about switching amp channels from the PBC. I was going to run a 25 foot snake cable to my pedalboard with my FX loop, amp in, power, and ft switch. I originally planned on sending...

Re: I love this blue channel.

I think there is some merit to the amp ‘blooming’ as it breaks in. There are hundreds of components in the amp, I think once they all ‘settle in’ (especially the Output Transformer) the TC really comes alive. Either that, or I’ve just adjusted to the amp LOL. When I first got it I was instantly in t...

Re: Settings to improve guitar volume control

There are times when my Mark V isn't as responsive as I'd like to changes in my guitar's volume pot... Just thought I'd ask if anyone has any settings tweaks to improve that behavior? Thanks! It would be helpful to know a bit about your guitar and rig. What is the guitar and pickups you are using? ...

Re: Triple Rectifier chassis shifts slightly within the headshell

Hey everyone, Last week I received a Triple Rectifier Multiwatt that I bought off Reverb, and I noticed that the chassis shifts slightly within the headshell if I tilt it forward or backward. I think whatever holds the chassis to the bottom of the headshell on one of the corners may have come loose...

Re: Plate Voltage TC-50

Research vacuum tube bias and idle plate current. Also research cross over distortion. The above conversation refers to the idle plate current, or bias setting on vacuum tubes. A byproduct of power tubes is heat, the more power (current) you push through the tube the hotter it runs. If you run them ...

Re: Mini Recto 25 Ch.2 Vintage/Modern Gain Difference

Sounds normal to me, that has been my experience with any Rectifier series amp I have played, and I’ve played them for almost two decades.

This is mostly due to the increased sensitivity in the power section when in Modern mode.

Re: FX Loop light on my Mark V ON all the time

There should be a switch on the back right beside the send/return jacks. Check your channel volumes first though because they become the “final” volume control for each channel because the Output and Solo controls are also bypassed. +1 Also try the different FX Loop settings and see if they work co...
