Re: rectifier and a stiletto

I did it for a while. It sounded amazing, but too much to be carrying around.

Re: I found my Trem-O-Verbs serials, what do they mean?

mine is R-012651? would this be an H revision as well?? mine sounds great, very pronounced midrange, even though i back it off, then again, i do have EL-34's in it. would love to know what year it is.....it's much easier to find info on this stuff than my schecter strat, that's been tough.... It's ...

Re: broken power cord input jack

I don't recall if they are soldered on or use spade terminals on the inside, but either way it's a pretty easy fix.

Re: 2Ch-Triple Recti: Reduce power to 50W by taking out tubes?

They can safely handle a mismatch of one step in either direction. You can plug an 8 ohm cab into either the 4 or 16 ohm spots...that's from the user manual for every Mesa.

Late night posts....

Yeah, it raises the impedance....duh. I had that backwards.

Re: need help building rig

Basically, you get a 60 Hz hum through the cab. Just a constant buzz. It's not noticeable when you're playing usually, but when you're not playing, you'll know it's there.

I alleviated it by turning off one of the amps when I wasn't playing.

Re: need help building rig

I finally took the plunge and bought an Peavey 6505+. I already have a Mesa Dual Rectifier and a Triaxis and I must say the peavey 6505+ has lots of mid when I compare it with my amp. I'd like to boost the amp. I already have a furman pq3 and a maxon od808. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/3996/i...

Re: 2Ch-Triple Recti: Reduce power to 50W by taking out tubes?

You can take out 2 power tubes, but by no means take out 4. What RnR was saying is correct. I don't recall the exact details right now, but taking out 2 tubes would lower the 8 ohm impedance down to something like 5.3 ohms, which you could run on safely, but taking 4 out would cut it down to 2.6 or ...

I'd say you're spot on. One of my Dual Recs was 6198 and was built in 10/95.

Re: New to the rectifiers and the forum here...

Basically, run the volume high, and the gain low. It will do wonders. As does turning down the bass knob. A lot of people like to run it at 12:00 or above, but even if you lean it back to 9:00 it's still producing a mountain of bottom end. I was speaking of a boost, not the amp...but yeah....dialin...

Re: New to the rectifiers and the forum here...

What he said. I'm not too familiar with the Single Recto series of the family, but I know that doing the serial loop mod to a regular Dual Rec still doesn't make it 100% serial. It effectively makes the loop so that the mix knob is 100% wet all the time...due to a design flaw in the amp, there's sti...

Re: Mesa Boogie Schematics

Hi, i've been searching for some time now... Can anyone tell me where to find the schematics for an F-100 combo? Mesa says its components last for at least 20 years... I can not believe this... as the amp is not what it once was as i have already said times and times again in the the F-series secti...

Re: Amp circuit singing!

Yep, I didn't have a load on it as I forgot a tube amp always requires a load. After a resistor started smoking I quickly shut down the amp. Seems no major damage occurred. Surprised there is fail-safe for a disconnected load. Seems pretty dangerous to not have something just in case. I guess this ...

:( Certainly. Along with my Dual Rec. My current rig gets close enough, but not quite there.

Come tax time though, it's on.
