Re: Roadking II clean

One thing I've done with the Rectos I've had is to run an effects processor in the loop for the cleans. I'll EQ the cleans the way I want, and keep the distortion channel stock.

TBH, I didn't buy a Recto for the cleans....it was the distortion channel that sold me on them.

The volume on the guitars seems to be a bit higher on the 50cal clips, so that could be one reason.

I'm actually Mesa-less right now, but here's what I used to play through:

Re: List your Recto's preamp tubes please :)

When I had my 2 channel Dual, this was my setup:

V1 - 60's Mullard (don't remember the year)
V2 - NOS 60's RCA
V3 - JJ
V4 - JJ
V5 - Sovtek LPS

I'd ran through all kinds of tubes, and liked this setup the best.

All you'll need is a MIDI to USB cable to connect it to a computer. $110 shipped to the 48 states. DTR1000: Been racked sin...

Re: WTB: Track-Loc Casters for Mesa Recto 412 Cab

Regular hardware store casters should work, as long as the base of the caster fits into the track.

Re: Wiring new speakers for a cab

What you gotta watch out for is the gauge - the higher the gauge the more power the cable can handle. Actually, it's the Lower the gauge the more current (power) the cable can handle. A 10AWG wire is a lot thicker than an 18AWG. Also, cable length is something to consider. An 18AWG cable would be f...

Re: Wiring new speakers for a cab

Thanks for that. I think I'm going to go for the two 16ohm speakers and wire them in parallel for 8ohms. A few more questions... 1. Just to clear-up, stereo is when you run all speakers together in unison? What do you mean when you're referring to 'mono' in a cab? 2. The Roadster is 100w. Do I need...

Re: Installing tubes in Single Rec

For power tubes (the big ones) just make sure you line the notches on the plastic aligning pin with the notches on the sockets, and push them down into the holes. Make sure they're seated fully, and watch out that you don't push them in at an angle, or you could break the aligning pin off. For pream...

Re: Spare tubes?

I always kept a spare quad of power tubes and at least 2 preamp tubes in my gig bag. I didn't use the tube rectifiers, so I didn't keep spares.

I would change my power tubes about every year, so I always kept the previous set as spares in my bag.

Re: 09 3ch Dual Rectifier FX loop - MAJOR issues Help?

Replace V4. That's the driver tube for the effects loop. Sounds like your tube is on it's way out the door. Bypassing the effects loop takes this tube completely out of the circuit, so that would explain why you're getting volume with the loop bypassed.
