I was rather fond of all 3 of my Rev. Gs....especially the last one, which was the oldest I've owned. :(

Re: Dual Rec - 6L6 or EL34 or KT77...?

I like 77s the best followed by 34s, then 6l6. As said already, it all depends on the player. They are all good for different sounds and the effects are noticeable. 77s are a nice middle ground between 34s and 6l6s and have their own mid thing going on. I'll take back my previous statement about 77...

Re: Mesa's RA-100 new vid sounds like a Mark/Recto hybrid.

That Hi Mode sounds like pure awesome! A bit muddy, but I'm sure a few knob tweaks would take care of that. I'm gonna have to make a trip to the local Mesa dealer and play one soon.

Re: American Music and Guitar - Beware

how much did they charge for the "new" Dual Rectifier? Are you going to have to pay to ship it back? Including shipping, the bill was $1933.49. As far as what I would have to pay... I have to wait to see how it all pans out. It is a DR1BLC... It is a 100W/3ch/dual wattage (50W/100W) Recto. So, I TH...

Re: Mini Rec big enough to gig?

Let the PA do the work and put some guitar in your monitor. In a perfect world, yes. But in most small bar venues only drums and vocals go in the mix for us. The guitars self amplify, and the degree of that changes from venue to venue. Most times we're standing right on top of our gear. But a 20W h...

Re: Dual Rec - 6L6 or EL34 or KT77...?

In my opinion, JJ E34Ls sound best in a Recto. They're more aggressive on the top end, and don't lose any of the bottom end. I tried KT77s for a while, but ended up going back to the E34Ls. I agree that changing V1 - V3 can make a noticeable difference, but I disagree that power tubes won't make muc...

Re: Quick Question.. Speakers - V-30 mix

most speakers arnt soldered in. they just use clips. Some companies do solder though . I just took some speakers out of an old combo that were factory soldered Every Mesa cab I've owned had factory soldered connections. I believe the 5150 cab I owned had soldered connections. Nonetheless, crimping ...

Re: EFFECTS LOOP NIGHTMARE!!

Here's another thing to check: There's a multi-pin plug going into the back of the FX select pot. Make sure that it is seated properly.

I had a similar situation with my 3 channel Dual Rec, and that was the culprit.

Re: Lou Reed/Metallica album coming out

I stopped liking Metallica after Load. I didn't really dig it, but could listen to it. Reload was okay. St. Anger just flat out sucked, and so does this new crap they have. Good riffs, poor production, and piss poor songwriting.

Re: What Mesa Amp is the most versatile to cover MANY styles????

Just a question, why do you want all these simultaneously? If this is for a live rig you're seriously overcomplicating your life. Unless you are playing venues with incredibly pro sound support and your audience consists of guitarists, no one will notice most of what you're trying to achieve. +1 Th...

Re: Family Portraits (aka Post Your Stiletto Rig)

You know you have a great point there because i think the key to great Stiletto tone is some stage volume and with a different look it may have sold more who knows! I bought mine because two Rectos in the band just wasn't really working for us. One was always stepping on the other, and since the ot...

Re: dual recto power consumption

I agree with Dom....MINIMUM of 500 watts....and I'll also add to make sure you get a quality transformer. This is one area to not skimp out on. It's better to spend a few bucks more on a quality tranny than spend a few grand on a new amp.

Re: Roadking II clean

...... TBH, I didn't buy a Recto for the cleans....it was the distortion channel that sold me on them. +1, however as I mentioned earlier the cleans in the Roadster are very good IMO. Maybe we are dealing with buyer's remorse? We are still here willing to help you with this. Dom The way I see it, I...
