Re: TC-50 fixed and sounding just as good as new

I would recommend programs over commands. I have a Marshall JVM at the band's rehearsal space and the TC-50 at home. So I made a list of MIDI program settings - just a basic list of what I needed and assigned a program number to each setting (0 - Clean/Reverb, 1-Clean/Reverb/FX Loop, etc.) I then se...

Re: TC-50 fixed and sounding just as good as new

So I finally sat down and figured everything out with midi and the TC-50. Way easier than I anticipated. I’m using a Line Helix via 4CM. First of all, I highly recommend the Pedal Python if you’re using a 4CM connection. Makes set up, tear down and transporting super easy. This is my first time usin...

Re: TC-50 fixed and sounding just as good as new

Glad to hear you got it back!! My bass settings are also at 3 o'clock.

Hopefully I get some time to experiment with midi tonight!

Re: Are good cables REALLY worth the extra dosh?

Monster Cables are great. They are so great that when I went all Monster leads from 2007-2010 I noticed they were too much for the wimpy Switchcraft jacks I use in my guitars. In those three years I replaced 20 jacks across three guitars I gig with. I wrote Switchcraft thinking I ran into a bad bat...

Re: No need to keep the Marshall! The JP-2C can mimic a JVM

I don't have a JP-2C, but I do have a JVM. I do plan on getting a JP-2C next year. But why not just keep the JVM for more tones in the EL34 realm? I'm sure there's loads of classic crunch tones on the JVM that are not obtainable on the JP-2C - like the 3 modes on the Clean and Crunch channels. Just ...

Re: Help needed with FX loop tone suck!

The Marshall JVM is one of my favorite amps in my collection. I got a slamming deal from a rich guy who was a drummer on Craigslist. It came as a half stack with the matching 1960 slant cab. Got the whole package for $1500!! He was a drummer that wanted to learn guitar and decided that a Marshall JV...

Re: Help needed with FX loop tone suck!

I've decided to either get a JPIIC+ or wait until the next mark series comes out. Either way, it's a year out before I get another amp. I have plenty to keep me busy until then. The TC-50 has a place in my collection - it's going to make a great classic rock/rockabilly/surf guitar amp when I eventua...

NPD - Line 6 Helix has landed......

I haven't owned a processor in ages, but with my Mesa TC-50 having Midi capabilities, I couldn't resist. My Helix just landed today - I'm still at work an haven't even opened the box yet. I'm looking to use this with the 4CM with my Mesa TC-50. I'm really looking forward to how I can set up the Heli...

Re: TC-50 with 6L6s, Precision Drive, MXR EQ

That's gonna be a wicked set up on your pedalboard. Good move on the Strymon Big Sky and conserving CPU power on the FX8.

Helix just arrived today - time to get learnin!

Re: Help needed with FX loop tone suck!

Which cab are you using? You could always opt for the 412 to move more air. I actually had to down size to a 212 cab as the 412 was too loud. I play drums too... and I hit them hard.... I have practiced the drums with the amp running a recorded loop on a TC Ditto and found I have to drop the volume...

Re: TC-50 with 6L6s, Precision Drive, MXR EQ

Glad to hear you're getting along with the TC-50. I'm still loving mine. Like I said above, I think it sounds best with the 6V6s. It definitely loses some clean headroom at 25 watts though. I'm STILL working on my FX8 pedalboard and moved to a stripped down pedalboard for now. The MXR EQ is out of ...

Re: Help needed with FX loop tone suck!

I am also experiencing a tone suck when the Reverb is on and also when the FX Loop is on (even with nothing hooked up through the loop). It's slight, but noticeable. Also, anyone experience that 50 watts isn't much headroom? I have a loud drummer. I am getting a much better volume response from my M...

Re: Squealing/howling - how to prevent

I had a squeeling with a guitar that had really hot pickups. Im not familiar with your pickups but maybe it could also be a microphonic preamp tube. Have you tried another guitar?
