Re: Mark V in action with my band

Thank you. Proud of these lads.

Yeah I don't know why but we stayed up drinking til 5am and we were into set 1 by 1pm. Felt like I was wading through treacle!

Re: Mark V in action with my band

Yeah man. It's not my best vocal performance because me and the drummer drank a whole bottle of Jack the night before, but I'm happy enough with it :)

Re: Mark V in action with my band

Yeah. It sounds a bit different cos it's through a real V30 and SM57. Plus it's live so there's a lot of bleed down the other mics.

Re: Mark V 45 watts or 90 watts

I've been enjoying Crunch mode in 45W. It sounds more Marshally and allows the top end to breathe a little better. Also when I switch over to Mark IV mode (90W) there isn't a drop in bass.

Re: Boogie Mark V brown sound

Thanks for the comments guys. I love this amp. Thinking about picking up a Mark III next while they're still cheap.

Re: Boogie Mark V brown sound

Glad you like it! Yeah I normally run the top slider a bit lower "in the room" as well. Live it might be quite a bit lower depending on how reflective the room is. When I record it always seems to want a bit more. I used this free IR http://www.ownhammer.com/free/v4-demo/ with just the SM57. I'm awa...

Re: Boogie Mark V brown sound

The board still won't let me upload an image - is that not a feature here? Do I have to upload to a host site and then link? Anyway, those settings are almost what I used. You need treble above noon (around 6/7 out of ten), and I used slightly more preamp volume and maybe a hair less preamp mids. I ...

Re: My in-depth Mark V review

Glad everyone's enjoying these. Y'know, this whole time I thought the bottom pic contained the whole range - but now I can only see 35s! Will fix later; well spotted. I like the Mark 1 approach detailed above. I often run Mark 1 with EQ disengaged or used very subtly but not as a lead channel. Will ...

My in-depth Roadster review

Hi guys,

I'm new here and this is my first visit to the Rectifier section. I'm a Mark V player mostly but I thought you guys might appreciate my Roadster review :)

Re: How would you rate the cleans on the mark v?

I think the cleans are breathtaking. For sparkle cleans I run treble low and presence high. Channel volume maxed and gain as volume. Best I've ever heard. Through a closed-back cab I'd normally add a compressor.

Re: Boogie Mark V brown sound

Thanks for the comments. I don't think the forum will let me post photos yet as I'm new. Basically it's the same slider EQ I always use, which I arrived at by A/Bing with my old 5153. 80Hz as high as possible before flub. Maybe 90% 240Hz bang in the middle 750Hz a whisker above the bottom line (same...
