Re: Now that the JP2C has been out a while...

Today I played my old Mark V alongside one of my current JP-2Cs. Very cool afternoon and plenty learned. The V is still a killer sounding amp. I came away with the impression that, as brilliant as the V is, the JP has moved the game on in several key areas. CabClone and MIDI are obviously indispensa...

Re: JP-2C live (Are You Gonna Go My Way)

Sounds great! Were you micing a cab or using the CabClone? I usually feed the board with a cab clone and have the amp cranked onstage. Thanks guys. This was mic’d and I had the luxury of being turned up a bit too. I do use the CabClone a lot too. The engineer made it a bit brightet than I would hav...

Re: Now that the JP2C has been out a while...

Well, the Mark V is Simul... run it in stereo with a JP2C ? I’d love to have a Mark V running all EL34s... Yeah, a good solution. Y'know, the funny thing is I prefer having two IIC+ channels - the JP-2C sounds and responds so perfectly on both dirt channels that I'm unwilling to go back to Crunch m...

Re: Now that the JP2C has been out a while...

A Mark VI with a mid boost on the gain channel like the little Mark V has would be nice as well According to the manual, it’s only channel one that has the boost. Channel two is a standard mid control apparently. Might be a cool thing to have though... I’m glad people are liking my video. Here it i...

Re: Now that the JP2C has been out a while...

I’m glad people are liking my video. Here it is on the same gig doing ‘80s stuff with some micro-pitch, delay etc. https://youtu.be/oeDysCNOfDQ Y’know, I’ve thought about what I would want from a Mark VI. I owned the V for a year and loved it too. The more I think about it, I want the VI to just be ...

JP-2C live (Are You Gonna Go My Way)

Hey guys, I’ve shared this playlist before but I’m sure there are a few people who didn’t catch it the first time so I thought I’d share a couple of the best tracks :) This was recorded completely live from the desk last Summer and I was pretty happy with how my tone came out... see what you think. ...

+1 on donnyboiler's comments regarding the JP-2C. I would definitely respect his opinions. You should read is review on the JP-2C, so far that has to be the best written review I have yet to read. http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=73958 Thanks dude! I enjoy your contributions too :)

Re: Power Tube Questions??

I recently changed the 6L6s in one of my JP-2Cs for JJ. I wouldn’t say I have a tonal preference between those and the STR-440s, but they were definitely good enough for me to buy a second quad of JJs for my spares. The price difference in the UK is pretty compelling too.

Re: Mark Five: 25 - wow

The JP-2C is definitely fuller and thumpier than any of the Mark Vs. The only trade-off is it doesn’t have such lightning fast reactions but it’s still a very responsive amp by ordinary standards. For me, the JP-2C is the best all-round package there is. It’s just perfect on every channel and every ...

Mark Five: 25 - wow

New amp day! Previous Mark V and current JP-2C owner... was looking for a portable package for Central London gigs, also to open up some possibilities for plane and train stuff. Very impressed! I can get close to my main JP-2C medium high gain sound on IIC+ mode, a little less weighty but very punch...

Re: JP-2C vs. Friedman Smallbox test

so which amp is when in the timeline? BTW which amp can we hear in this clip? The last Steve Vai riff was really cool https://soundcloud.com/end-of-the-century/torpedo-live-ownhammer-blackback-then-g12-t75-then-v30 Thanks, that was my Marshall JVM410HJS. Amp 1 is always the Boogie, and amp 2 is alw...

Re: JP-2C vs. Friedman Smallbox test

I thought I'd get a few more than 7 votes TBH (one was actually me...) so I'm not sure this really tells us anything at all, but amp 1 was the Boogie. For what it's worth I vastly prefer the Boogie on all three sounds, and even more so in the room.

Re: JP-2C at mid gain!

Thanks dudes. It’s a Torpedo Live with an Ownhammer V30 sim. Bit of reverb applied in Logic and that’s about it.

Re: JP-2C vs. Friedman Smallbox test

Cheers. It’s so frustrating, I have the files here in perfect quality. Even the mp3 version I have on my phone sounds good. It’s like Soundcloud are uploading at a really low bitrate, there’s swirl and artifacts all over the high end.
