Beautiful top! I've never played a 513. I guess I'm missing something. I always thought I'd prefer the traditional humbuckers. I do like guitars with rosewood necks though.

BTW, I normally don't care for bursts much, but VAB is one of my favorite PRS colors.

I don't have a Singlecut SE, although I was extremely impressed when I played one side by side with an American made Singlecut. So much so that I would love to add an SESC to my aresenal. As far as pickup recommendations, I'm using WB Firewater's on my Singlecut Trem, and I love them! http://www.wbp...

Yeah, welcome to the DIY club! I built a GGG 808 clone. It doesn't come with a whole lot of extra parts, but it does have suggested mods. A little less expensive than BYOC, but still a good quality product. I have a really good friend who's built all of BYOC's kits at least once - she's built a bunc...

Could it have been a rented backline? Marshall could have caught wind of it and played that card.

I love the sound of Gilbert's Laney setup!

My relatively simple setup. I'm in the process of making a few changes to it. I just got the computer. Unfortunately, I'm finding out after the fact that Vista drivers aren't available for a lot of what I need to do. I'm not a happy camper. Edit: Got a last minute Christmas present. M-Audio finally ...

I've found that miking with a 57 - while it can produce some really stellar results - is a hit or miss proposition. 57's are highly location sensitive. A change in angle of only a couple of degrees, or a movement of 1/4" will totally change the sound. Half the fun is experimentation and finding the ...

Stiletto resiliency - Impressive!

I was backstage at a show not too long ago. A band who had no clue about tube amps, and had just bought two brand new Stilettos were "warming up" the amps like they were " told to do" by the sales dood at GC . . . They had the amps sitting on the floor in the hall, fully running (power and standby t...

For the last few years I've been running Greenbacks and V30's in my Marshall cabinets. I have them in an X pattern with each other. To me the sound is over the top!

I just noticed it a few minutes ago when I retubed my amp. It looks more like a recommendation than anything else.

I had never noticed it before. Like I said, I've been running the SS rectifier and getting some decent tube life.

I have a 3 channel DR from 2001, and I've been running EL-34's in solid state mode almost since then. And I'm getting some pretty good tube life as well.

A 57 is all I use, and I love the results.

SM57's are pretty sensitive to placement and models of speakers. Move it around a little until you find the sound that you like.

In Avatar cabinets, where they mix and match by customer request, that's a fairly common combination. I haven't heard that one myself, but I'm pretty sure it's not a bad combination. If you email Dave at Avatar, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to describe the nuances of some of the different combi...

V30's in your cabs? I'm running V30's and greenbacks in mine, and they sound fantastic with my DR.

I had a couple of Alesis 'verbs in the 80's and 90's. They were bulletproof. I haven't really heard anything they've done recently though. No experience with Rocktron other than the Vertigo Vibe I picked up last year.
