CE's are killer guitars! My first was a CE, and it's still a very valuable piece of my arsenal.

Congratulations!

My next project will be a single ended head with an EL-34, but I'm undecided as to whether the front end will be Hiwatt or Plexi.

I don't remember if I've posted here or not. I know I posted it over on 18watt a while back. I'm totally adicted to building amps. For me, it's a major destressor and it's all kinds of fun!

Hey Charlie, do you by chance hang out over at 18watt.com? It's a really cool place to go if you're into building/modding amps. They have several offshoots that deal with Push-Pull or Single Ended amps as well. I just finished building this guy a few weeks ago, and I've been able to do from creamy c...

We blew a sub a few weeks ago. The entire PA went down in the middle of a song. About 15 minutes later, we were able to start playing again.

I bought the turret board, components and transformers from Dockery amps. I've tweaked it a bit from the original spec trying to make it my own. I built the chassis and cabinet in my shop. Tonewise, it's very versatile. The clean channel is just amazing. Crisp deep and articulate. The crunch channel...

Yeah, it's labelled F/A-18. I'm in the Navy and I sometimes work around aircraft, so it has a kinda stealth theme to it.

I'll post a sound clip as soon as I can get Vista drivers for my sound card.

My 18 watt marshall clone

I just finished building this. It's my first attempt at building an amp from the ground up. It's an 18 watt TMB. Built the old fashioned way. Just tubes, resistors, capacitors and transformers. It was a lot of fun to build, and it sounds pretty awesome!

I was comparing that to the difference between 1250 AUD for the Laney and 4500 AUD for the DR.

GH50L's are great amps!

Laney's tend to be more expensive over here in the states. The cost of a GH50L and a Dual Rectifier are actually fairly close. The Laney goes for about $950 and the DR goes for $1499. You got a great deal . . . especially since that one's been signed by Paul Gilbert!

Beware of Ampwares. I ordered some stuff from them two weeks ago. They took my money, but I haven't heard anything from them about shipping my stuff. I tried to call them several times, but there was nobody there to take my call during their regular business hours. To top that off, their voicemail b...

I have 2 V30's and 2 Greenbacks in my Marshall cabs. Mated with my Dual Rectifier, the sound is very much to my liking.
