Hey geddyentwistle, welcome to the Boogie Board! Mind if I call you gedox for short? I'm also a bass player and you are talking about two of my alltime favorite players (Squire ranks up there with them as well). I'm running EH EL-34's and YJ's in mine. I run into a pair of Marshall 4X12 cabs with V3...

Actually, the MIM stuff is surprisingly good. My brother had a MIM Strat a while back. It had a Wilkinson trem and Lace sensors. It was pretty much the Strat to die for IMHO.

Little bit of everything, actually. Mostly Modern/Punk/Core with a touch of 80's Progressive thrown in for good measure.

Re: EL34/ 6L6 bias switch, whats really going on...

I was trying my amp out with EL34's the other day, so I had the amps bias switch set over to "el-34," and of course when I put my 6L6's back in I forgot to change the bias back to 6L6.Now, leaving the bias set for el34s made my amp sound a lot better, more dynamic and punchy. My question is- how lo...

Right. There may be subtle differences here and there, but you can't go wrong with any of the higher end amps tone wise. It's the price that bothers me. I played an Uberschall once, and I loved it. But I couldn't see paying $2500 for a head. I had a hard enough time letting loose of $1500 for my Dua...

Hey Adam, welcome to this side!! I'm running EH EL-34's, which from what I'm told are patterned after old Mullards. By themselves, they sounded about like your impression of the GT's. But with Yellowjackets (EL-84's), they sound fantastic! I'm going to do a little more experimentation when it's time...

Dave, too good of a deal to pass up. Unfortunately, I'm in transit right now and can't. Please email me if they don't sell on evilbay.

I don't now about just plugging the EL-84's into the amp, but I'm running THD YellowJackets in my DR. They are about $80 if you get them new. They are also self biasing and convert the amp to Class A operation.

Hey Todd,

If you can wait until I get back home to Virginia in about three weeks, I might be able to put some cash together to make you an offer for the one you are getting ready to sell.

Dude, That is dead on my rig. I have my cabs loaded with two V30's and two Greenbacks each. I got my cabs for about $400 each and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I have to recommend Bill Lawrence pickups. They are some of the most versatile pickups I've ever heard. Bill and Becky are great people to deal with as well.
