Re: Roadster headaches. Would Power conditioner help?

Glad to hear you are getting it resolved professionally, sometimes we all have to suck it up and go that route. As for power conditioning and Mesas; my band rehearses in my basement and the power is pretty dirty. Lots of florescent lights and electronics causing humming until I got a good power cond...

Re: Roadster head, new speaker mix, new to me anyway

The right speakers make all the difference in the world. Both of my cabinets have greenbacks and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Re: Need new tubes for my Roadster

My Roadster was really picky with 12ax7s, A Tung Sol in V1 added some gain and a smoother top end when compared to Mesa stock. Tung Sols didn't work in every position though, some sounded pretty bad. I did like Svetlana 6l6s in my Roadster too, they have a pretty balanced tone and have held up well ...

Re: Road King II and Tremoverb: first band rehearsal at volu

I never had good luck with a Muff into any of my Rectos, they just didn't sound right to me. Glad it's working for you guys and that you had a chance to enjoy them at volume. They really shine when you can open them up.

Re: Static and humm with Mesa Mark v:25

The static sounds like a bad preamp tube. I've had that in a number of amps over the years.

Re: wireless effect on tone

The line 6 stuff has worked fine for me in the past, no negative impact on the tone at all. Just make sure you get one of the belt packs with the metal housing.

Re: Screaming Demon Pickup

Late to the party but... a lower value volume pot will tame a lot of the high end. If you have a 500k pot, try a 300k or 250k on the Demon.

Re: Roadster in large room, ended up in EQ hell!

Generally, I tend to use less gain than a lot of other people and I don't use pickups that are all that hot. That gives me the option to hit any one of the channels with a little clean boost or light OD to add gain and tighten up the channel. Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind starting at noon and...

Re: Why does a Mesa Recto 4x12 sounds better than my V30 2x1

Aren't the recto 4x12s slightly larger than a "standard" 4x12? I haven't seen one in a while but recall a buddy having one that was larger than my Marshall cab.

Re: Treated myself to the Roaster and OMG I'm in love

I set my amp up: Channel 1 - Tweed/tube rectifier/100w... Gain up enough to get an overdriven amp sound Channel 2 - Fat/tube rectifier/50w... Standard blackface Fender sorta sound. 50w helps it from sounding too "big" when switching between clean and high gain. Channel 3 - Vintage/tube rectifier/10...

Re: Help Finding a Non Metal Mesa

The Roadster is THE ultimate rock machine..........as long as you can play loud as a f@#$. It just never sounded good to me at less than rehearsal volumes. I love my Roadster and don't mind the changes as you drop the volume. I almost always use the Spongy and 50 watt settings and don't really have...

Re: Roadster Brit Love

What settings ya'll using? 6L6's? The funny thing is, I had to look. I have no idea what numbers any of my settings are, I just turn knobs until I get the sound that I want. My Brit channel is set up with everything pretty much at 2 o'clock. That gives me a nice light gain with my Les Pauls (BB3/57...

Re: Roadster Brit Love

I use Brit a lot as well. The same settings get a nice classic rock tone with my Les Paul and a slightly gritty clean sound with my tele.
