A low powered Marshall for Boogie people?

For years I hated Marshalls. I never thought they ever did get the master volume thing down. I always thought they sounded overly piercing, and cliched. The limited edition SL5 from 2013 is a great amp for Boogie folks. It does a nice American high gain sound, while retaining a distinctly bright cle...

Re: Why Dumble?

Why is it that no one can seem to replicate this amp? Why can no one get us the Dumble tone for less than $30,000? Supposedly, Bludotone makes the closest thing to a real Dumble Overdrive. Someone has one on The Gear Page for $3500 presently. That being said, many come very close, Ceriatone, Fuchs,...

Re: The End of Svetlana Winged C

:( Maybe i'm late on the news, but i wanted to buy some tubes today on that site ww.tubedepot.com ( i always buy my tubes there) and i read this message "SED (Winged 'C') As of February 2014, the SED factory is not producing glass vacuum tubes. This is indeed a very sad thing as SED tubes are some ...

Re: Considering selling my DC-3 combo - what is a fair price

Hi all, I have a DC-3 combo, somewhere in the 1996-1998 age range. It's in pretty good condition, still has the original v30 Celestion, it has fresh tubes (JJ's for pre-amp and Mesas for the El-84's), but I since I got my Mark V it has just been sitting around, totally unused - going on 5 years now...

Re: Recording with my MKIIC+ recommend load res?

Hi Guys I'm doing some recording and want to use my IIC+ --- but I live in a condo so I can't use it amplified through the speaker - I've been using a free version of GuitarRig 5 and though very cool - it can't even begin to approach "my sound". My understanding is that I can use the slave out from...

Re: DC-3 Preamp Issues

All voltages are as they should be to all of the tubes. I tried known working tubes from the DC-2 with no change. Thanks. Not much left other than PT, OT and choke, and various resistors, caps, coils. Preamp tubes are OK, but the sockets of the DC3 could be bad. Contact cleaner might do wonders for...

Just purchased my first Mesa!! Mark IV-Holy crap! Within 20 seconds of plugging in I knew I have the best amp of any I have had! ? I'll let you know how my Mark IVa sounds through a Two Notes Torpedo in a few weeks. I've never been able to turn mine up enough to really hear it in its glory. Some sa...

There is NO such upgrade available for a IIB. Sorry. Only a IIC can be upgraded to a IIC+.

Re: Amp hums gets worse with reverb turned up - mark iv A

Mark iv A - 1990 So I have an annoying hum. It gets way worse when you turn up the reverb. I have tried - new RCA cables for the reverb tank - unplugging the reverb tank - brand new 12at7 in the reverb tube spot Nothing helping so far Suggestions? Replace all the preamps? Take it to a tech? Is the ...

Re: DC3

I love my DC3, perhaps the greatest "sleeper" amp Mesa Boogie has ever made. I believe mine has a Celestion V30. I'd swap out the speaker for a G12-65, but I'm getting a Two Notes Torpedo, which makes speakers a moot point, finally. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before, the DC3 is very ver...
