I'd like to administer that test to you!

Re: Mini recto tones using maple fingerboards

If your maple fingerboard guitar has different pickups than your rosewood counterparts, I think the difference is from the pickups my friend. I bet if I blind-fold you and give you identical guitars save for the fretboards, you could not tell which was maple, rosewood, ebony, richlite etc.

Re: Help with Buying a Dual Rect

If you were buying the amp to JUST use at low volume, I'd discourage you from purchasing the amp. Since you will also be using it for gigs and practice, you COULD use it for both. I don't want to come off the wrong way. Me personally, once I have all the levels perfected I don't want to adjust them ...

Re: Help with Buying a Dual Rect

It is NOT apartment friendly. I keep mine at my rehearsal space and I have a 2 watt Fender Greta at home I use for practice.

There are plenty of cheap practice amps out there. Just go with that and don't bother using the dual rec in your apartment. It won't be worth it.

Re: 3 Channel Mesa Dual/Triple Rectifier Users - Questions

Ok, Silverwulf, the serial for my 3 channel Dual Rec is 21688. My guess was a little high! I thought it was in the 26-28 range. I bought it used at Sam Ash in Villa Park IL in November 2006 so i don't know the original tubes. I emailed Mesa a while ago and they told me the amp was made May 29, 2001....

Re: 3 Channel Mesa Dual/Triple Rectifier Users - Questions

I'm at work currently, i'll pop my chassis tonight as I have a 3 channel with a serial I think in the 26-28k range. I'll take pictures and find the rev code. I don't know anything about caps or filters or anything, but i'll take a picture for the more knowledgeable peeps!

Re: New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

My sample size is from the 2002-2009 time period in Chicago so I guess what we can say is the pop punk/emo scene did embrace the whole rectifier line. :P

Also, great post.
If he listed his guitar as a Guild SG copy then I think we'd have a winner.

Re: New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

... and I'm super impressed with the Single Rectifier! I bought it as a backup to my Tremoverb but now I'm not sure which amp should be the main act. I spent the weekend playing the Single Rec constantly, and comparing it to my other amps. The Single Rec has an overall brighter sound than the Tremo...

Re: 2x12 recto,unusual question

A recording engineer would want the grill removed to help with mic placement to make the recording sound better. They could better see the cone and have an easier time getting the mic set up. I don't think that producer was saying that the fact that the grill is removed, the sound is better. Obvious...
