Re: mark II refurbish at petaluma

Call Mesa Boogie at 707-778-6565 and ask for Mike Bendinelli or Rich Duvall. Excellent customer service.
You won't regret it.

Re: Mark IV - A / AB / B

This is what I posted 4 years ago about my no-A/no-B, or early B, Mark IV. Mine is s/n 617X (March 93). My early B version has all 12AX7 tubes while, I believe, the A version has a 12AT7 in the reverb. Output tranny is 562004R-1 and power tranny 561136. Chassis is black (A versions are silver?). I d...

Re: MARK III SERIAL NUMBERS

Wyzard, your blue stripe's serial number and manufacturing date match blue stripe territory. - blue stripe (1/88 to 5/89): 21825 to 24933 - green stripe (5/89 to 9/98): 24898 to 28386 But Blue Stripes with 60W and 100/60W power amps extend into green stripe territory. All Green Stripes were Simul-Cl...

Re: MARK III SERIAL NUMBERS

Hi Phishfan, as I mentioned heads are sometimes out of their own stripe range. Your serial # 1852X can be either: - purple stripe (1/86 to 12/86): 16657 to 19059 - red stripe (12/86 to 1/88): 18949 to 21863 These colors could get confused as they change over the years (same thing happens between blu...

Re: Mark IIA or IIB?

Yes, at s/n 5823 the data on the chassis should show something like October 1980. Lovetoboogie: could you check the date written in the chassis in black Sharpie, please? If I recall properly, I have seen a II-A with s/n 5574 born on 8/14/80 and have also seen another II-A with s/n 5022 born on 9/10...

Re: Speaker for a MarkIIA Combo.

Yes! It is a refinement of the Tweed Bassman. Really? I always thought the mark IIA was a refinement of the blackface design. May be then a Jensen speaker will suit the amp. A trusted vendor offered me C12k but I rejected it.cause i thought I wouldn't be appropriate for this amp. That is the Mark I...
