Re: Mark V 25 Problem

Hey guys, quick question: In the last rehearsal whenever I tried to run the gain at 4'o clock, treble at 2 o'clock, mids at 11 o'clock, bass at 10 o'clock, presence at 2 o'clock and the master at 12 o'clock, plus graphic eq with a V, but without completly cutting the mids, If I pushed the presence o...

Re: Mesa preamp tubes

I believe the current crop of Mesa 12AX7's are JJ's, put through their test rig and branded Mesa On 4 other Mesa's I have owned, I did a lot of tube rolling to tune them to what my ear wanted to hear. The MKV is the only amp where I put a balanced Tung Sol in V1 (to brighten up response), and have l...

Re: Today I Found a Marshall In My Mesa

TWEED is my go to mode in CH1 on the V

Full of different flavours, and works really well with EL34's under the hood. Killer blues vibe in 10W setting too

Re: I love my Mark V but....

Interesting ... I have said here many times that the MKV is the most rewarding & frustrating amp I have owned. Sell / don't sell has come and gone so many times I have stopped analysing it It is outstanding at many things, and took me a long time to bond with it. And like anything, I fall in and out...

Head going into 2 Marshall cabs (as per sig below). I'll try the mismatch as you suggest - sounds like you get a bit more breakup and a softer attack from what you are describing

Re: Lonestar Classic Head to 4/12 cab favorable ohm mismatch

Interesting you favour EL34's. I love them in the MKV and Matchless Indy but find they are too "narrow" in the LSC. I usually use =C=s I got CH2 to be more responsive after tuning the preamp section with a mix of 12ax7's V1 Tungsol V2 =C= V3 Mesa V4/5 GT M's Currently running with TAD 6l6 GC's under...

FS - Lonestar V2 Head (Black) 10/50/100W

Guys This is a re-listing after a European buyer had to pull out For sale is my LSC black head (10 / 50 / 100W version). Ungigged, limited studio use only and in "as new" condition. No scratches or tears, with 1 minor scuff on the LHS (not visable unless you are specifically looking for it). Great s...

Re: New Mesa Boogie Mark V owner + Tube Problem

The one that does not light up is your rectifier valve. Those that do are your power valves What all your valves do is detailed in the manual, which is a must read if this is your 1st valve amp. A lot of your potential "issues" going forward will be valve related, and some easy self help knowledge w...
