Re: RA100 still on my top list

If I come across an Electra Dyne for sale I may pick it up as I had played though one when my heart was set on the RA100. Do it Bandit. IMO, a stellar amp that is under-appreciated. Excellent tone from a simple layout, and loves =C='s. I tried EL34's, but went back to 6L6's for a fuller mid respons...

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Well, I tried to sweep the gain on CH2 and CH3 to see what type of onset of clip I could get.... Well, this would not be for you if you wanted clean dirty vintage style like a Rolling stone sound. The two lead channels have the minimum gain preset, so when all the way to lowest position, no sound, ...

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Mark V is going on its way out.... out the door for sale. I really tried to like this amp but just do not feel it is a good fit for me. The JP-2C delivers what I want and satisfies me on all accounts just as much as the RA100 or the Roadster. The Mark V just seems too sterile and it does not...

Re: Mesa JP-2C Review

Thanks OP that was an interesting read! You mention low volumes - I understand the Mark V excels at low volumes... even at modest 'home / bedroom' levels. Does the JP2C behave at these sorts of levels? Obviously they all sound better when louder / pushed, but I'm curious. Thanks! :) It's definitely...

Re: New basement session: RA-100 + Gibson LP Baritone

Hi guys! Just finished another Basement Session called "Eden." Not much has changed, except this is the first session we've done where I'm using my Gibson Les Paul Studio Baritone instead of my normal Suhr. She does, in fact, sound entirely different. As always - love to hear your thoughts! For thi...

Re: Lonestar Classic, 6v6's, 10 watts?

Are you looking at the 6v6 option for a tone / response change or volume drop?

The flexibility of the LSC power settings, variac and a great master output control allow you to operate at almost any volume permutation. Not sure I see the advantage of installing a smaller 6L6 type tube ..

6L6 GC / Rectifier Valves for sale - Various

Too many valves, so am thinning out the herd. I am based in the UK and do not usually post on the US board, but valves travel well, so I hope some of these items may be of interest to US forum members 1) Svetlana =C= SV6L6GC Mesa Burst Tested (Watford Valves) 28/2.6 - Matched Quad new - £110 2) Svet...

Re: Mark V:25 Crunch Volume

Thanks All! I just wanted to make sure in case it was something specific to the one I had. I love channel 2 as well for harder stuff, but when I'm doing classic and blues it would be great to have an amp that switches from Fat to Crunch. Maybe there's already something like that in the Boogie line ...
