Re: WTB: Heartbreaker Head - Preferably one I modded

$500......
Now you have me thinking......
I just bought a Soldano today though. Gotta sleep on it.
That's a great amp for $500, provided that everything works.

Re: WTB: Heartbreaker Head - Preferably one I modded

Thanks guys! I did notice that the cab is busted. Babow2, I'll mull this over and get back to you. I probably wouldn't give the guy more than $500-$600 for the amp (it's definitely been dropped or damaged in shipping), and definitely don't want the other stuff. I might shoot him an email and see wha...

Re: TC-100 vs Rectifier - Questions

Thanks! I've been a Mesa tech since 2006. Now I just repair amps in my spare time, the day job has kind of taken over unfortunately. I've worked on and owned just about every Mesa amp, but I'm still looking for something different. High gain with no sloppiness, but lots of chunk. Stellar cleans that...

TC-100 vs Rectifier - Questions

I have a Rev. G Dual Rec and a Mark V. Neither one of these amps does what I want..... I love the cut of the Mark V, but it can't give me a huge thump like the Rectifier. I love the thump of the Rec, and the tone/feel of the lead channel, but the Orange/clean channel does nothing for me. I got to pl...

Re: WTB: Heartbreaker head cab

I keep thinking about cutting my combo cab up, but it's really nice looking.......
Can you give me the measurement of the internal height on your cabinet?

Thanks!

WTB: Heartbreaker head cab

I have a Heartbreaker combo that I want to turn into a head.

Does anyone have a head cab that they would be willing to part with?

Thanks

Lonestar 4x12 Cabinet - Opinions

I've been looking for an open back or partially open back cabinet. I don't like closed back 4x12's unless I'm playing outdoors. Even then, it would have to be a pretty big place for me to use a closed back. I have an 80's Mark series 2x12 half back cab that is great, but it's not wide enough for mos...

Anybody have "Gut Shots" of the TC?

I'd like to see what is going on inside the TC.
Does anyone have any pictures of the insides of the chassis?

Re: DC5 A with 6V6s?

Check out the Master Volume Mod thread, or the DC Mods threads. There is a resistor that is in parallel with your Output Volume knob. If the resistor is removed (or bypassed with a push/pull pot like my amp has), then the amp is much more tame. I think 6V6's would just take away a lot of the girth, ...

Re: Rectoverb 25w troubleshooting. Only one channel & no sou

The Rectoverb 25 is a rock solid amp. I used one for about a year gigging and it always worked! I sold it to a friend when I wasn't playing much and deeply regret it! It is very possible (as Bandit said) that something else was damaged when the power tube failed, or if someone was inside the amp mon...

Re: Rectoverb 25w troubleshooting. Only one channel & no sou

 Bandit.....You beat me to it! One thing to check is the channel select switch on the front of the amp. If you are using the footswitch and it does not change channels, the switch on the amp itself may be set wrong. That would eliminate one problem. A faulty tube will not affect switching in ...

Re: Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

Thanks jmusolino,
I tried your settings this morning. I like them a lot!
At lower volumes (it was 4:30AM, only spare time I have right now), I had to turn the Gain up to about 1:30 to get nice sustain.

I'll try it at higher volumes this evening after work and see where I should put the gain!
