Mesa Boogie Roadster head mint $1300, roadcase - Providence

100w Mesa Boogie Roadster head. Amp is mint as it has lived in a roadcase since I purchased it new. Looks brand new, not a mark on it. Roadcase is in great condition and is also for sale for an extra $100. New tubes recently installed from Dougs tubes "high gain recipe", power tubes are 6L6. Include...

Re: Save mismatch with MARSHALL MR1960BV

Before my Mesa cabs I had 2 Marshall cabs and a Mesa Roadster which only has one 8 ohm jack. I tried the safe mismatch and it sounded terrible to me. I ended up having a custom Y speaker cable made and it sounded right again to me. I would suggest trying the safe mismatch before the show to avoid su...

Re: roadster with marshall cabs question

The Marshall 1960 cabinets dont have the option though.

Before my Mesa cabs I had 2 Marshall 1960 cabinets with my Roadster and I had a custom Y speaker cable that would allow me to hook up both cabinets to the 8ohm jack.

I have the RJM Mini Effects Gizmo that controls 5 pedals so you can use them in any combo via midi. I have my boost in there and it works perfect! It costs $349 I think.

Re: American Music and Guitar - Beware

Wow!!! That is a nightmare, how much did they charge for the "new" Dual Rectifier? Are you going to have to pay to ship it back?

Re: Roadster trouble

All cables, cab(s), and guitars are ok. I plugged into the effects loop return and I don't get those problems, it is a loud and pure clean output. I don't have a 2nd amp to connect the loops. Is it possible that it is the transformer?? It just occured to be that by mistake I plugged my Roadster into...

Re: Roadster trouble

I received the tubes today. I changed each preamp tube one at a time to see if i could find the bad tube. Changed them all and I still had the problem. Than I changed The rectifier tubes. I was sent the wrong power tubes by mistake, EL34s. I changed them anyway to see if it fixes it but I still have...

Re: Roadster trouble

Thanks Dom, after what you said before I was already going to change v3 & v5 first to see if I can keep some backup tubes. I did end up getting power tubes and rectifier tubes also. I only use the Roadster in a band situation, not for home practice.

Re: Roadster trouble

Ok I have a shipment of tubes from Dougs Tubes coming in tomorrow. The preamp tubes are: V1 - Tung 12AX7 V2 - High Gain JJ ECC83 V3 - Penta 12AX7 V4 - Penta 12AX7 V5 - Penta 12AX7 V6 - Sovtek 12AX7 LPS The manual says V1 is the position closest to the input. On a Roadster head it would be the one to...

Roadster trouble

Today I plugged into my Roadster and found my amp was not working. The volume was very, very low, it sounded like mud, and there was a very loud hum. When I bypassed the loop it was louder but still does not sound right. I assume there there is an issue with a power tube. The power tubes are all glo...

Re: Running two heads in stereo advice.

So how do you set yours up in stereo? Do you use a rack stereo effects unit? Or, do you use a splitter to split your guitar signal? I am really curious on what other players are doing to get a real stereo output or setup. Even a sudo stereo set up is key to me understanding what is really happening...

Re: Running two heads in stereo advice.

nothing can beat the sound of a two amp stereo setup! i know how killer this sounds and yes it´s much more than just hook up another cab to one amp. if you are the only guitarplayer in the band, go this way. you get a much deeper and wider sound as with one amp. i would do it again, if i´m the only...
