Re: Quad Switching with 1/4" Jacks

I'm using an RJM Midi Amp Gizmo with a TC G Major 2 and it's easy as pie to program. I simply select the program number on my pedalboard, this sends an omni signal to the Gizmo telling where it is and then I set the preference on the Gizmo manually, press write and that's it. Likewise I select the p...

Re: Marshall 9001

Bought one a few months ago to support my Mesa Quad - it runs great with the right tubes, Harma Cryos in this case - too noisy with EH or JJs, too clean with NOS Mullards or GT... It sits right in there tonally with the Quad and while not the highest gain pre around it's well worth it for what it do...

Re: Opened up my Studio Pre...a few questions for the savvy...

a) drain it!
b) go change the reverb tube back to an 12AT7
c) get a recomended engineer do the mod for you, then you can smile when it works instead of screwing when you fluff it -not saying you will, but if you do... :0(

If you have a trim pot then try going low and running the valve colder. It should fix the problem without causing it to go bang... check the operating voltage range and go to the lower limit and see how that works.

Good Luck, I love Hiwatts and hope yours lives on!

Might Sell Quad Preamp... UK c/w 110/240 transformer for UK

Thinking about upgrading to something a bit less flexible (?)... It's an '88 Quad, comes with the FU2 footswitch and a step up transformer so It can be used anywhere in Europe/US. If you'd like to make me a sensible offer I'll decide whether it's worth selling and let you know by friday 29th August....

Red Lace Sensor

I've an Eric Clapton Strat that I wasn'rt happy with at the bridge - the gold lace sensor turned muddy when I kicked in the mid boost, just neve =r had a tone I wanted from that position... I'd bought a few Lace sensors to make up another scratchplate and load her with, but got a call for an auditio...
