Re: Post your rig part 2

I really like the neon orange on the knob dimples. Fits right in with the glow of the tubes.

Re: Cheapest price you paid 4 gear

Just picked up another recto slant cab for $250. No scratches or tears in the grill either. It was my luck day I guess.

Re: Rejuvenated and loving my cranked Roadster ...

The other guitarist in my cover band uses a THD hot plate. He says he uses it so he can get that "cranked" tone without being too loud for smaller venues. I keep telling him the only way to get that "cranked" tone is to CRANK the damn thing haha! And if he's worried about being too loud for using a ...

Re: Define Rectifier Series

I am not concerned with speakers or cabinetry. I am concerned about tone and what drives or contributes to the tone or better said, distinguishes the recto tone from another recto or non-recto. That's a big part of the equation not to be concerned about. FWIW I personally think you can't get the "R...

Re: took 10 years before I ever had a problem

Went out and bought all new power tubes and rectifier tubes today. Before testing my luck with all new tubes I looked inside again to double check the guts and came across this. http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb44/colemaneuclid/Recto/IMG_1983.jpg http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb44/colemaneu...

Re: took 10 years before I ever had a problem

Yeah I was 99% sure it was ok but I was a bit apprehensive for fear of smelling fried amp with a show 2 days away haha! 15 minutes after I posted this I said screw it, crossed my fingers and fired it up. 2 6l6's started glowing after 5 minutes of test play. Time for a total power section re tubing. ...

took 10 years before I ever had a problem

Now just before practice I went into my basement to warm up a bit and after a few minutes low end went out, inner 2 6l6's glowing bright red then the rectifier tubes started flashing then pop! And then the dreaded smell of something burning. :( I opened her up and flipped her over to check out if I ...

I just built one with $10 in parts from Radio Shack. Switch, jack, led, led holder, and project box. Super easy.

Re: the weight of the power amps

"Heavy tone needs heavy gear!" I used to say something similar when I had my old (and quite obnoxious) rig. It was an ATA flight approved 2 head (loaded with 2, 2 channel Dual Rectifiers) 15 space rack (loaded with goodies and a 3 space rack drawer that had EVERYTHING I could EVER need) I...

I now have every tone I need at my fingertips!
I've had the DR for ten years and is still my favorite amp for all my "metal" needs.

Re: Need a footwitch for 2 channel dual rectifier

Is that still an ongoing issue? I remember reading about that roughly 3 years ago.

I'm selling a friends DR and he can't find the footswitch, I went to Radio Shack and got the parts (including LED) for literally $5.
