Re: LSS loud vs LSC turned down CLEANS ONLY

My LSC cleans sounds wonderful when the amp can be turned up and allowed to breathe a little. When I have to turn it down to make the rest of the band happy, I'm not very impressed. Those of you who have played the LSS, can you help me? I know EL-84s aren't 6L6s, but in your opinion, can you find t...

Re: 112 combo size

There was talk a few months ago of Mesa producing a version of the ED that fits in a 5:50 sized combo. Maybe it's one of those?

It is indeed a 1/4" jack and this is in addition to the reverb tank connections.

Unidentified Jack - Lonestar Special

Okay then folks. I had the amp apart at the weekend to track down a rattle (which I found!!) and didn't reconnect the reverb tank. I noticed it at band practice and reconnected it. Whilst I was there I spotted a jack socket right next to it, but no identifying marks as to what it was. I've had a loo...

Re: help please! Lonestar problem at the gig last night

Generally speaking, if it's the rectifier tube that's gone you'll lose sound on 5W and 15W, but retain sound on 30W as it uses a solid state rectifier at that setting.

I've got the blue's big brother in mine, the Celestion Gold. You're right, Alnico speakers seem to be a great match for the LSS!

Re: Paul Reed Smith 513

The pickups arent too bad in terms of how they look. Thats a stunning guitar. It just screams quality and class. I had one issue with this guitar when I played it. Do you find the neck a bit chunky? I think its the thickest neck that PRS makes. Thicker than the wide thick. Also the joint where the ...

Paul Reed Smith 513

Hello Chaps! I made a little bit of a boo-boo a few weeks ago and bought a Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne as a "spur of the moment" purchase . Don't get me wrong the amp is terrific, but it is just too heavy (weight) and loud for me. I have had both shoulders surgically repaired and must be really careful...

Re: LSC Hissing and crackling...swapped out every tube!

JJ - what a horrid situation to be in.

One other thing that has come up here before is that noise can be caused by an accumulation of crap in the Effects Loop jacks. Try spraying contact cleaner in there and then inserting a jack a few times to distribute it. This may help.

I'm in the UK so I can't say as to whether GC carry them or not - over here they are relatively inexpensive. You just twist the fuse holder til it pops out...

Re: New Lonestar Special - Having issues, please advise!

Sounds like the fuse has blown. Try swapping the fuse. If it does it again, then something is causing the fuse to blow. I'm in two minds as to recommending whether you should just return it...
