Re: Came back home to the Lonestar Classic. Feels good! New

Mesa did you up, JJ. Welcome back to the Lone Star Nation! What a gorgeous rig! Thanks! I'm loving it! The other night I let my other guitarist in my band play thru it the entire rehearsal. The next day he texted me saying after playing through my rig his personal amps at home were a let down! LOL

Re: Came back home to the Lonestar Classic. Feels good! New

My biggest complaint is the lack of headroom when playing cleanly. When playing with a drummer, I had to nearly dime my LSC when playing cleanly. Even though I changed the speakers in my 4X10 to ceramics, I still had headroom issues. If you mic the cab, you should be just fine. But then that leads ...

Re: Came back home to the Lonestar Classic. Feels good! New

I was going to sell my LSC to help fund a custom power amp. I just couldn't do it though. I am compromising though: I'm having a speaker jack installed on my 4X10 combo cab and selling it; but the LSC chassis stays with me. The chassis will eventually go into a head shell. I'm also bonding with the...

Came back home to the Lonestar Classic. Feels good! New Amp!

Had a Lonestar Classic a while back loved it but then got rid of it.....after touring with the Mark V and using other Boogie amps I decided it was time to come back home to where I need to be and that's with a Lonestar Classic. Check out my new rig I just got today. Lonestar Classic Short Head with ...

Re: My magic Mark V settings for today!

Gosh my ears hurts just looking at your Treble and Presence knobs... JK. Hey we all got good tastes in our own way. I like the C90 if it didn't have as many highs thats why I use the V30 and right now I'm not even liking that. See I like really cranking my MKV and when your standing off stage with ...

I use all three channels......my particular band needs a LOT of different sounds.

Re: Big pop punk crunch. Not sure where to start.

Try some of these settings. Especially towards the end......7 minute mark or so but you can learn a lot from watching this because they show eq settings and talk about what power structure they're running etc.

Re: My magic Mark V settings for today!

Cool! Basically, the cab you are using with your MkV head is the same or very similar to the sounds achievable with the MkV combo with the C90 speaker. Personally, I find your post very refreshing because I really love the sounds I am able to achieve out of my MkV combo with the C90 speak...

My magic Mark V settings for today!

Had rehearsals all week for an upcoming tour. Heading to Japan, New Zealand & Dubai. Anyways all week I tweaked my amp to the rehearsal room of course but anyways I finally locked into some tones that were really magic for me. I was playing my 2000 American Strat with n3 noiseless pickups. I chose t...

The more gain the more noise you're gonna get. Kind of hard to tell if it's a natural amp sound or something gone wrong.

I ditched the EL34's! Back to the smoother & creamier 6L6's!

After spending about a year with the EL34's I switched back this week to the 6L6's and MAN was I happy I did! Made the whole amp just warmer, smoother and creamier all around! Makes me wonder why I ever tried the EL 34's in the first place! LOL If I ever get a Marshall again then that will be my EL ...

Re: Anyone using the 212 vertical rectifier cab?

When I am at home my personal cab is a 2x12 vertical cab with C-90's and it sounds great. I also have a 1x12 open back cab that I occasionally use and it sounds phenomenal too. On tour right now I have been using two 4x12 cabs and that is just heaven! Getting quite spoiled actually! Unfortunately th...
