Re: Able to get Zep/Aerosmith tones from LSS?

For a dirty overdrive I turn down the gain and turn up the drive control. I think I also have it set for thick.

Re: What guitar do you like with your lonestar?

For me my American Strat sounds killer. I also like my Epiphone Sheraton.

Re: LSS Tone Heaven:

I found the best tone with a lowered gain and high master this way the el 84s start to show their teeth.

Re: Mesa blues amp recommendation

It's taken a year for me to get it dialed in and broken in but my LSS is a singing blues machine now. It's a bit more on the twangy side of things but for clean Albert King or BB King licks it's spot on. hear it here: http://reverbnation.com/outbackbluesband

Re: Clean channel sounds better with overdrive pedal

I have noticed this too with my LSS. I use an MXR Dist+ from the eighties just to put a little fuzz in the signal and it sounds much better in ch 1 than in ch 2 which I have set up for a little overdrive already.

Re: Lone Star Special Problem

I've owned various tube amps for 20 years and never smoked one. Yes it can happen, but it shouldn't if you have your speakers connected properly. I've had the rectifier tube blow on my LSS the fuse took care of the juice before the amp could smoke like it's supposed to.

LSS Slave Out into PA

I know the slave out is to drive another power amp but what about a PA? The amp itself is loud enough for most of the places we'll be playing but I also wanted to option of taking it to the pa for better volume control and mixing. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Aside for cranking the...

Re: Question: Delay pedal for LSS and LSC

I love my Carbon Copy. The reverb is good for rhythm on my LSS but for getting a solo to stand out the Carbon Copy sounds great.

Wow, a 4x10 LSS. Thanks for the pics I might not have believed it otherwise. I love my LSS since I got it last summer. Those 4 tens must sing.

thanks

Thanks for alleviating my worst fears. My next step was a call to Mesa, but now I won't. I do notice it going away after a while of playing. And I think it's more noticeable at the lower wattage settings.

Tibe buzz/rattle

I was playing my LSS last night and noticed a buzzing coming from the tubes through the back of the amp. It was only apparent when playing certain notes especially around the middle of the neck. I've had a Fender Twin for years and never heard this noise. Is this a warning of coming trouble? Are the...

LSS & MXR Dist+

I use an MXR Dist+ that I've had since the eighties on ch1 for a little Blues bite. I set the gain low, around 10 o'clock and it just adds a nice little kick to everyhting. It doesn't sound so great on ch2 however
