Advice on an F50
I wrongly sold my first F50 a few years ago..went a round a few different Boogies and then ended up back with another F50, not the same one, which on the drive channel sounds completely different and not as good as my first one. I changed all the tubes to new Boogie ones and had it serviced and the ...

Re: F50 Combo crackling issue
You could ask for amp repair advice in GuitarGuitar etc..the staff are bound to know who's available in that area.

Re: F50 Combo crackling issue
Not sure if this will help...but I have a noise issue with my F50 at home but not at gigs..the reverb in my amp doesn't like the electric at home..it can pop a little etc..no volume loss just noise. I run a TC Hall of fame because of it.

Re: Speaker change for my F50
I'm actually on my second F50..never should have sold the first one as it sounded way better when using the drive channel. The cleans are excellent but the one I have now is as you described so I use a Free The Tone SOV and a Zendrive for more gainy sounds including a TC Hall Of Fame for Reverb and ...

Re: Speaker change for my F50
why do you not use a pedal instead??...I agree with you on the overdrive sounding thin. I have a Zendrive on my board but the speaker does do the cleans very well

Re: F50 Rear Valve Mesh Protector
Thanks for the replies..I'm looking one as the mains cable tends to coil upwards in the direction of the valves after playing and I don't want it damaged by heat of the valves etc
I've seen one with the bars as well but the mesh has a bottom which would stop any contact

Re: Compressor to use.
I use a Keeley 2 Knob Compressor and love it...a Boss CS3 or MXR Dynacomp are good starting places with this effect....the MXR is a great pedal for the money.
quote="RocketRick"]?Stinkin abt using one before the amp to get cleaner sustain.
Any ideas or recs per a compressor?

Re: Dave Gilmour Tones??
Hi...David has now returned to the Black Strat with passive pickups...the Red strat has the EMG's that he used on the Pulse DVD...it has Mid boost, Bass/Treble Boost instead of the tone controls If you want to achieve the Gimour sound you'll need a compressor for sure...the MXR Dynacomp is a good st...
