Re: Favorite Overdrive/Distortion pedal

The RAT (Vintage Big Box) I'm using these days I bought new over twenty years ago. First time I used one was in 1981 with a JCM 800. I have always loved the RAT. Probably my favorite MESA to use with the RAT is my Heartbreaker. It just sounds amazement with this amp...EL34 or 6L6.

Re: Mark IV with 6V6 - Triode? Pentode?

I think it's fine either way ? Now I'm questioning it. Been many years since I put anything but 6L6 in the Mark IV.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

Awesome

There is a lot of options on how it can be set up. I use 4 PRESETS / BANK WITH INSTANT ACCESS on the GCP.... because you can turn on and off the tuner bypass, boost, tap tempo, etc on the GM2.

Having control over the poweramp switching with individual presets is really useful.

Re: NAD: Multi-Watt Dual Rectifier

Nice collection.
I used a Multi-watt Triple a friend owns a few times. It really is a great amp. I have a Tremoverb and the transition from Orange to Red is smoother with the Multi-watt. I also like having control over the rectification on each channel.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

The reason to put the GMajor2 in the effects loop of the Triaxis is so you can bypass it completely when not using it. If I remember correctly the GM2 turns everything into digital. I rather bypass when not using it. Sounds like you are getting it close. Like I said once you get into it it's not tha...

Re: The Mark IV thread....!!

I bought my Mark IV new on the first run in 1990 and have not replaced the capacitors. This one and a few others I should probably look at.

Any luck figuring it out ?

It's more complex than it seems. Once you get it you will see what I mean.

Re: My “new” Heartbreaker

EL34 has some great gain sounds. 6L6 has the best cleans and probably the biggest range. I'm not real into pedals...but a Rat sounds great with the Heartbreaker.
