Re: Mesa tremoverb combo.

The serial number is close to mine. I haven't had mine open in a decade. Now I'm curious what board is in mine.

I plan on changing out the capacitors on my Mark IV, Heartbreaker and Tremoverb later this year. I'll be looking then.

Re: Mark III power tube break up - doesn't seem possible

I'm not sure if you or most people understand how a tube amp works. Guitar tube amp or any other tube poweramp are running at 100% all the time. What makes them overdrive is how much you put into the poweramp from the preamp. Basically it requires to be very loud to get poweramp overdrive. The mast...

Re: Mark III power tube break up - doesn't seem possible

Bypass the preamp and run a hot enough signal into the effects return to overdrive the poweramp.

What's the serial number ?
I think I bought mine in October of 1993.....and over 3000. Production started in June of 1993. My understanding is revision F ended at 2500. Mine has the EIA-606 Schumacher transformer.

Re: Mark III power tube break up - doesn't seem possible

The power amp is always running at 100% output. What makes it overdrive is how much volume you put into it. With a Mark III I get poweramp overdrive with the master at 4 or 5. I'm running the preamp fairly hot also. I'm not going after vintage tones. Which version of Mark III do you have (ie what c...

Re: Triple Rectifier + Tubescreamer + Solo boost = No headroom... Please Help!!!

You can you use turning on and off the effects loop to get different volumes.

You can get as much volume cut or boost as you want with the effects loop method.

Are you using two channels ?
Set the channels similar with two Orange channels.... One set for Rhythm...the other set for Lead.

Re: Favorite Overdrive/Distortion pedal

Still love the RAT and Fulltone pedals ....but now using for boosting a KHDK No.1, No.2 and Ghoul Screamer. The voice of these pedals works for me with my Tremoverb. The Ghoul Screamer with with all switches up TS808. My favorite probably being No.2 in the HI mode - adding saturation, compression an...

Re: orange vintage high gain

For a long time live I used the Orange mode for lead and Red mode for rhythm. Now I usually two Orange or two Red. For boosting I'm using a KHDK No.1, No.2 and Ghoul Screamer. The voice of these pedals works for me with a Rectifier. The Ghoul Screamer with with all switches up TS808. My favorite pro...

It won't be a problem. All the Mesa tubes are in the same range.

Put them in pairs....inside and outside pairs.

Every pedal has different input levels....you need to adjust your amp different for every pedal.

Re: Mesa Mark IV A fx loop problem

You might be sending too hot of a signal to the delay.... Read the manual to properly set levels.

R1 Master / R2 Master / Lead Master these control the send level in the effects loop. If you set them too high for your pedal it is going to distort.
