Re: Mark IV with 6V6 - Triode? Pentode?

I think it's fine either way ? Now I'm questioning it. Been many years since I put anything but 6L6 in the Mark IV.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

Awesome

There is a lot of options on how it can be set up. I use 4 PRESETS / BANK WITH INSTANT ACCESS on the GCP.... because you can turn on and off the tuner bypass, boost, tap tempo, etc on the GM2.

Having control over the poweramp switching with individual presets is really useful.

Re: NAD: Multi-Watt Dual Rectifier

Nice collection.
I used a Multi-watt Triple a friend owns a few times. It really is a great amp. I have a Tremoverb and the transition from Orange to Red is smoother with the Multi-watt. I also like having control over the rectification on each channel.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

The reason to put the GMajor2 in the effects loop of the Triaxis is so you can bypass it completely when not using it. If I remember correctly the GM2 turns everything into digital. I rather bypass when not using it. Sounds like you are getting it close. Like I said once you get into it it's not tha...

Re: The Mark IV thread....!!

I bought my Mark IV new on the first run in 1990 and have not replaced the capacitors. This one and a few others I should probably look at.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

Any luck figuring it out ?

It's more complex than it seems. Once you get it you will see what I mean.

Re: My “new” Heartbreaker

EL34 has some great gain sounds. 6L6 has the best cleans and probably the biggest range. I'm not real into pedals...but a Rat sounds great with the Heartbreaker.

Re: Help me set up triaxis

I edited my post above and added a few things. Your going to easy do what you want and a lot more. Learning to control MIDI and this many devices is going to take more than a few hours. It is going to take weeks if not months. Your going to need to read the manual of each device and then figure out ...

Re: Help me set up triaxis

I have a Ground Control (GCP) and only use one MIDI cable. If you had other MIDI devices on your foot pedal with the GCP you would connect it. Example might be using a Voodoo Lab PX-8 PLUS and GCP. Then you would use both MIDI jacks on the GCP. Do you use the Switch Track by the amps or by the GCP ?...

Re: Tremoverb + Attenuator?

I agree with skoora. I tried removing tubes on the Tremoverb and several other amps. In every case I felt it sounded worse. The transformer doesn't saturate right and volume difference in the room is virtually none. All I got out of it was a thinner weaker sound where the poweramp overdrive sounds o...

Re: My “new” Heartbreaker

I own a Heartbreaker and have played on a few that were modified. Not sure what modifications were done but very much prefer it stock. The modifications sounded bad. The Love channel is basically a Fender Blackface and Mesa Mark I. The Lust channel is a Marshall JTM45 and JTM45 with a added gain sta...
